for anyone unhappy about getting anonymous feedback/comments on their writes: on your member page, directly beneath Main: Profile, you will see Options. click on it and you will find where to click to block anonymous comments/feedback. this does not block all feedback, though there is a further option to just that.

it does warn you to bear in mind this might mean you lose feedback from sources that might be of value to you, but from the posts i'm reading most anon comments lack any intrinsic value to the author of the write. as far as i'm concerned, if someone cares enough to speak their opinions then let them put their name to them. sorted. no more crappy anons. now if i get disparaging feedback, at least i can respect them for taking the time to offer it honestly.

In one sense, there is no such thing as negative feedback, because all feedback is good. It might not all be useful, but what is?

The true solution to nasty feedback is to imagine the person sitting on a sofa, in a room lit only by the monitor of their laptop. This person is naked, except for socks. A deflated bag of chips (crisps) lies at their side. The person lifts the bag in disappointment, then stands to search for pieces which fell between the cushion.

i mostly agree with you, but it makes me smile now to think someone might type out a few paragraphs of rubbish that have little or nothing to do with a write, and then try to post it only discovering then that they can't. it makes me smile to think of them having wasted their time instead of someone else's.

sent you a note on this.

I will go one record and say I'll only delete a comment of they are trash with no constructive benefit. Anyone can disagree with a comment. If you put up walls to prevent open communication then people might not comment on your work in the future. If someone gives you a poor comment, I think you are belittling yourself if you go and do the same to theirs just because. Opinion varies. If we do not have true opinion then this place will be like the others I left because everyone was too busy patting backs to get favored.

Just not reality. The internet is too ripe with these pleaser places. I did not try this site for that reason. If you have a thin skin then never post anything because sooner or later somebody will hate what you do, and/or hate you because they do not care for some minutia about your BVD's, Knickers, handle, verb tensing, aim at spittoons, or speillng.

The lack of honesty in society stifles humanity. Look at us here. Many can't disclose the real us because of the resultant effect.

Look at me being all preachy. Okay, delete that last comment.

ah, good, it was just lit faffing about then. thanks for letting me know :)

my own skin's pretty well desensitized, and that was before i even came here. this isn't so much about posters disagreeing with, or objecting to, your write but about some of the troll dumpers we have been experiencing. i'm not encouraging others to block anons, just letting them know about the options available.

we have a resident 'anon' who goes out of his/her way to be offensive in their comments ....... this isn't about freedom of expression this is about some fart box who should get a life!

I seriously think a weighing factor should be considered for anonymous voting. It's just too easy just to push the button and run. The so-called Lit. scrubber just don't do the job. C'mon 39 votes, one comment? The scrubber knocks of ten, a few weeks later it's now 41 votes, one comment.
At least with alt's you get the amusement, of them trying to say something different.

Pac_man21: This is the best poem I ever read. The weather is fine in Colonrado:rolleyes:

Dogpenis How is the skieing? I liked the peom muchly to muchly. The weather sucks here.

Texarkanaana I'm in Florida, it's hot, but not as hot as this poem.

Raj2million I am from India, the skiing is fine here also, but it is hot also. I find this poem reincarnates me. A prime example of what you Americans would call Oderific, I think.

BTW, I tried to figure out how to do the pole thing, and couldn't

it's been a sad life full of depravity and sorrow, since I was thrown out of the Village People for excessive Xtacy use.

any way I got to that part, but nada.

most comments lack any intrinsic value to many of the authors of the write, except as ego feeds.

here is another suggestion, turn off both comments and voting. and the lights. quit submitting, and send an email to your fan club telling them you need help finding the chips you lost in the cushion (thank you Bronze, for that wonderful image <shudder>)

Great advice, mr. bronze. It is even better if you imagine one of the chips sticking to his or her behind! I don't really post except in Forums because a really smart guy told me once I should be trying to improve and not just get cheerleading from random strangers. He was right. But I understand people want exposure. :caning:

Let's just say it has been different lately.

Example: chipbutty in to keep the review thread clean.
