Just to update everyone, xbook.ch is back up and running and is still stripping new stories posted on Literotica and re-posting them on their site.

The site had been down for a while when the software company that created the software that the owner used to set up the site was found to have also be stolen and was disabled by the software company.

Apparently, the owner bought the software so it is now back up and running.

Yep, a bunch of my stuff on there. Bastards. Anyone know what, if anything, can be done about that?

Looks like they have my entire catalogue  I guess I'll need to check in there now to see if I get any views, comments and ratings

If this keeps up, I may never have to write another story to remain a "fresh new author"

Damn, sometimes it isn't even the full chapter or story published. That's idiotic.
Exactly. These sites are mostly bots skimming set chunk sizes. I don't think I've ever seen a whole story repeated, unless it was very short in the first place. There's no point worrying about this stuff.

Well … that sucks, eh?

The only way to never have your work stolen is to not post it here or anywhere else for free. Even e-books can be stolen, but its less frequent, easier to prove its yours, and selling platforms take pirating a lot more seriously

Yep, they have every single one of mine... and they even left the copyright statement in them. Fools.

Well here is the idiot that owns that domain...

Domain:xbook.com
Registrar:Sea Wasp, LLC
Address: 5860 Citrus Blvd, Suite D, #172
City: Harahan
State: LA
Postal Code: 70123
Country: US
Phone: +1.5043550545
Email: Redacted - incorrect domain

I think everyone here should email the asshole. Just a little note with a statement "I know where you live."

Google your pen name and put "erotic stories" after it. You will be amazed how many of your stories are posted all over the web.

That is why I now put a copyright notice with my name in the description. They always keep your title and the full text of the story, but sometimes they delete your name and say "submitted by administrator. This way my name is in the body and I can always find the story via Google.

That's not the idiot who owns that domain. That's a forwarding company that protects domain owners from being identified via WHOIS search.

https://jewellaprivacy.com/

Jewella Privacy specializes in providing mail forwarding for physical and email communications to domain name registrants worldwide. In 2001 upon hearing about a lady who was stalked and threatened because her website exposed fraud committed by an attorney, we created a WHOIS privacy service. Domain name registrants worldwide use our contact information in WHOIS.

I am not a lawyer, but I doubt sending messages that could be construed as stalking/threatening is a good idea here.

EDIT: even more so since that's the wrong domain. What you've posted there is the info for xbook.com; xbook.ch is a completely different site. I'm not going to post the registration data here since it'd break forum rules, but you can find it via https://www.nic.ch/whois/

FWIW, had it been the dot-com, the appropriate response would've been to contact Jewella:

You can demand that we unmask the owner of a domain name when the domain name infringes on your intellectual property rights or due to illegal activities by emailing us at abuse AT jewellaprivacy.com.

Our goal is to provide legitimate customers with privacy online. We are not a service to enable bad actors to spam or break laws while hiding behind our privacy service. We produce the contact information of domain name owners when there is a legitimate reason, including evidence that the website hosts illegal content or operates unlawful activities.

When you seek to unmask the registrant of a domain name, please provide the following:

1. The domain name for which you desire to obtain registrant information.

2. Your email address.

3. Evidence to warrant unmasking which may include a trademark being infringed, spam sent, or other illegal activity.

It doesn't look like they are attempting to monetise the stories. Like last time, it looks more like a demonstration of some system they're promoting.

They have 14 of my 38 published stories. They've actually not done too badly with what they've pulled, they have two full series of connected stories and some that are essentially one-offs, albeit in shared universes. Blind luck or someone did some study, as they've ranged from my earliest stuff right through a couple of very recent ones and in between. For mine, it doesn't appear random nor purely date based.

A few...

Not only are my copyright statements still present (I've always put one right at the start of every submission), but they've preserved links to Literotica that are in my preface and endnotes where I link to some of my other Literotica stories and my biography . But they did chop off the ending of at least one story.

And, yeah, they're all submitted by "@Admin".

Per other comments, I can't find anywhere they're 'selling' anything. I don't even get fed ads. And the only cookie is a cache key.

All that, and $3, will get me a mega-size Slurpee at an Australian 7-Eleven (they've cut the prices).

Well, my wife is and they are a foreign site. Can't imagine there is much risk here in anyway. What are they going to do? Send Tony Soprano after you?

I tried the idea of googling my username and adding erotic stories and found another site that’s taken all my stories.

I tried the link to xbook and was very annoyed. They’ve only taken half my stories and only taken three of the stories posted under my other username. What’s the problem? Are they saying the other stories aren’t worth reading? I’m very offended.😡

I write stories for fun and if someone wants to steal them for another site I’m not bothered. Annoyed they haven’t used my username and put @admin but this can be cured by putting something at the beginning. Even if it’s a site trying to sell stories I doubt they’d have any success with my crap.

You're right, it seems Whois doesn't have a clue about the .ch domain.

I did find this, but it not the person who owns the domain...

Domain name xbook.ch
Registrar netcup GmbH

Phone +49 72175407550

DNSSEC no

viddy.ns.cloudflare.com
First registration date 31 August 2006

This place explicitly says they don't give any information about who ones the site.

It's the why that leaves me wondering. What does the site owner get out of it? It's a free site with no ads, so it isn't money. They are hiding so it isn't attention. Humans are a very strange species...

My guess is that Lit is banned in China. These are simply smut enthusiasts who have realized that people still like reading English language smut. Maybe you could view this as a sort of an attempt to fight oppression.

My reasons for guessing this is that a considerable portion of people going to my site and sticking around to read my stories come from Chinese servers.

EDIT: Also there might be a good reason behind the fact that they tend to take all the Incest/Taboo stories. It might be the kind of genre that the Chinese government might permit since it might support their claims regarding American immorality.

EDIT 2.0: Nevermind. Looks like they have broadened their scope from last time to all categories.

Although .ch is Switzerland. .cn is China.

I'm not sure that Lit is banned in China. Other sites with similar stuff that I belong to have Chinese members.
