...I've started a series about an Ambassador from the "Federation of West Asia" (a parliamentary democracy ruling the Middle East) in the year 2169. He is sent to a world called the Dekerin Domains, a quasi-feudal state dominated by a ruling council of lords. There is much poverty and oppression on this world, but it is also well-ordered, sexually enlightened, and has a strong military.
Unfortunately, it also has hostile neighbors, including the Akrosian Empire, an egalitarian police state ruled by a succession of nominated monarchs. The Empire is xenophobic and moralistic in the extreme. They also include the neutralist, pragmatic Vorindun Republic and the bird-like Macureans, who are ruled by an academic elite.
Earth is a collection of 12 "superstates", including: West Asia, Communist China, Eurasia (former Soviet Union), USA (a somewhat larger and more liberal version of its older self), the Anglo-Canadian Empire (a merger of UK and Canada), Australasia (Australia and New Zealand), the Pacific Community, South Asia, the African Union, the Latin Social Republic (a Peronist regime controlling South America), the EU, and the Union of Balkan States.
I don't want to give too much away, but I wanted some opinions on details of things of mutiny, alien-human sex, and the likely course of international law on an Earth with only 12 sovereign nations.
