21st Century say 2045?

Gritty crime drama where the villain switches his Rent-a-Pod every couple of hours, and thwarts the Heros tracking him down! Ah Ha!

Or a wife and child trying to find happiness after her husbands death, she finds herself contesting the last Rent-a-pod at the rail station. Her adversary is tall dark handsome, and packing.

Or Leonard and Sally enter the racer at the fair, Dirt tracking gyro-stablized Mono-pods was fun! They fight and Sally and Leonard find other pursuits, after the argument.

Nice idea; not the first by any means, but a good one.
Personally, I'm not too keen on the 'electric' power; too high a power/weight ratio, I suspect.
But I'd love to try one.

Supposedly they'll be on the market by '14, or so I saw on a YouTube-eo a few months back. This one certainly looks a lot better than the prototype.

It's a commuter car. Takes you to work, the store, etc. Definitely not what you drive 'over the river and through the woods to Grandma's house'.

I'm sure you could do things with someone crushed in the back behind the driver. With a little imagination. Although the bear might find it a bit of a squeeze? (With any luck.)
