The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports that so far in 2016, shootings in Minneapolis are up by an astounding 85% over 2015. Other violent crime is up as well:

As of April 11, 74 people had been shot in the city, an 85 percent increase over the 40 shot during the same period last year. Eleven neighborhoods spanning the city saw violent crimes such as rape, robbery or arson showing increases in 2015 compared to a five-year average.

The increased gun violence is centered on mostly-black North Minneapolis:

Lt. Bob Kroll, president of the Police Officers Federation of Minneapolis, blames the crime surge on a shrinking police force and greater scrutiny of police that has left some officers disengaged. The slowdown in policing has been noticeable.

Through April 11, police in north Minneapolis’ Fourth Precinct made 3,706 proactive stops, compared with 7,732 in the same period last year. Citywide, there has also been a dramatic decline in traffic stops and arrests for serious crimes.

Seriously. I think being woken up at 2am and having your entire place totally lit like it is high noon outside in mid July with bed, windows, doors and floors rattling by a low flying Black Hawk war gaming idiot strafing your yard, street and whatever else with high intensity lights is enough to drive a sane person over the edge.

Supposedly they are practicing "urban warfare" by terrorizing citizens, flying between skyscrapers in the downtowns doing game surveillance of random targets, my brother got tracked, complete with laser pointers for about a week a few summers ago in Mpls. He reported them to the police, and FBI who were unaware of these idiots. Said idiots then came over and let my brother know when they were leaving.

Then there are those circling surveillance planes...

Luckily my new place does not seem to be on their path.

Usually I don't hold standing presidents responsible for these types of things because they usually inherit a bunch stuff, but this has only been going on since Obama came into office, at least one summer it was run by the Navy and he is the commander and chief.

I guess they used to use Indy, but now they moved up here.

Back when the government didn't look upon it's Citizens as the greatest threat to national security (white guys who own guns and hunt = domestic terrorists) there was no need.
