I just got back from driving the latest owlmobile, a Jeep..****! :D I drove it only on local, plowed roads, but with a V6 and that 'up high on your perch' seating, I felt very safe. Getting out of the spot where it was parked was no problem. The town plow had been through, but in 4 High, Rosey (my name for her) went right through it. :) It also didn't take much tapping from my right talon to get going. FUN-FUN-FUN! :D

Now, where is the Grinch's dog? I need a token reindog tied to the front of this red sleigh.

As much as I generally dislike having to clear snow from the drive, walks etc., I am envious that you folks on the east coast got so much so early. It will add a festive quality to your holidays that we will sorely miss here.

The most fun I ever had in the snow was riding on a toboggan down a snowy country road late one night while being towed behind a car doing 40 mph or so. Dangerous? Hell yeah. But we were 18 and invincible.

Second most fun? Passing the town snowplow going uphill in a storm in my first car, a Saab.

Have fun in the snow, Owlz. There's nothing like it.

Thanks, mwy. Generally speaking, which region gets more snow, the northeast or the midwest?

In my experiece, the northeast seems to get more. That said, parts of the midwest get hammered pretty badly. Particularly areas that lie just east of one of the great lakes (such as western Michigan or Buffalo) get huge amounts of snowfall as the weather systems pick up moisture going over the lakes. I moved from Maine to Buffalo to Chicago and of the three places, Chicago gets the least snow by far.
