never got into the turtles

as for AVengers, again the characterization in that era, particulary with the Vison and Scarlet Witch (and what has been done since to both of them is appalling)

Steve Gerber's Man-Thing and of course Howard the Duck

the early Claremont X-men, eithe with Byrne or Cockrum

all fantastic

I didn't read many of them. Mostly just X-Men, Avengers and TMNT (which I usually shared with my brother). I was much more into sci-fi novels. But I loved the stories in these.
