Okay. It's Friday, and I am braindead, however, it is time for the Fun Friday Poll! :)

This week: Do modern day cartoons scare you? Does Anime make you shudder? What happened to the good ol' days when Scooby Doo actually made you scared?

Anyway, just a fun brainless poll

I really love ANIME...i have several series from things like Legend of the Overfiend I,II and II to Blood the last vampire. I have some old Dungeons and Dragon cartoons that I taped when I was a kid , and a copy of the Max and Aeon Flux. The thing I wanna know is where does cartoon network get off calling the crap they show , actual animation? When I was growing up I watched Loony Toons, Transformers, Voltron, GI Joe, and many others....None of today's cartoons have any of the production value of that old stuff. My kids like to watch the old stuff I have taped and they are like "Oh that's soooo cool...what is it?"

Depends on the cartoon. But I won't let my children watch any cartoons but what's on chanel 10, and I stay in the room with them while they're watching them. I like to know what my children are learning. Oh, and on Saturday I let them watch ABC cause they have dora the explorer and blues clues on.

I do know that K's forbidden Dragon Ball Z. We let the kids rent a movie and K feels that it's occultic and creepy. I don't care cause it was stupid and now I have a good reason for not having it on.

I haven't really watched any of the new children's cartoons, but I really miss Animaniacs (from before FOX took them over because FOX has that stupid "childrens shows should teach something" motto, I prefered when they were still exclusively WB's) And Pinky and the Brain, granted a spin off out of Animaniacs They're still AWSOME!! "Are you thinking what I'm thinking Pinky?" "I think so Brain, but what if the Hippopotamus doesn't want to wear the tutu?"

I had 2 egyptian spiny mice named Pinky and Brain. RIP. But yeah, that show was awesome. Popples, Smurfs, Carebears and Babar were pimp.

They're tiny and they're toony,
They're all a little loony,
And during this cartoony
They're invading your TV!

What do you mean they didn't teach you anything? I learned to watch out for piano's falling from the sky.

I miss good cartoons! There used to be nothing better than to wake up early enough on saturday to catch all the cartoons and then go back to sleep (or out to play depending on the weather) when all the boring "adult" tv shows started.

Um... I took an assignment to Japan because I love Anime and wanted to see where its from.

So, no today's toon's don't scare me for the most part.

Now some of these bad animation craptacular things make me want to claw my eyes out if I'm forced to watch them but that's rare since I watch little TV.

Invader Zim though... "Who threw this pork-cow?"

Come on, FREAKAZOID!!!

But yeah, I don't watch TV anymore so I don't what is up with cartoons today.

Let me just say this, I hate cartoons in general. My Son watches the toon channel. The family guy is why he asked me about anal sex. Does it scare me? No.

Because I know he will talk to me about anything he is curious about. It's really funny when he asks me stuff about say Star Trek references and stuff like that, because he hasn't seen those shows.

I don't like the shows at all. Then again they are pretty damn funny, the bits I accidentally see when I tuck him in at night or we happen to be in the same room. The noise of them is irritating to me in the extreme.

I used to watch Darla I think it was on MTV. Loved some of the old action toons. I used to watch South Park and Celebrity Death match.

I like the old Looney Tunes and Disney cartoons :D My kids watched Ninja Turtles, My Little Pony, Animaniacs, Care Bears, Transformers and Voltron, and Thundercats before the powers that be in NZ took it off because it was "too violent"

Today's ones all seem to be Japanese anime and all look the same to me.....maybe I'm turning into a boring old fart.....:D

You got Brain's question wrong.

"Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering?"

"Well, I think so, Brain, but burlap chafes me so."

Did you notice that there was a woman whose job title changed in the credits for Animaniacs? One day it was Elephant Wrangler.

And let's not forget the mime in a shrinking box and Dot's Poetry Corner.

"Mary had a little lamb...with mint jelly. Thank you, thank you..."

And Good idea, Bad idea.

Ah I miss it - it's the last cartoon I watched.

The new Tim Burton film about the dead bride? I AM interested in that one!

Wheel of Morality, turn turn turn, tell us the lesson that we should learn.

And the moral for today's show is....

"Brush your teeth after every meal"

Love Family Guy. Just saw the movie (which doesn't actually come out until September, ain't I the shit?). I enjoy a lot of anime but typically not anything I see on TV; the dubbing irritates the fuck out of me with rare exceptions. I've always been into cartoons, from the age when I was expected to think they were cool, through the age when I was supposed to be more mature than that, and now back to the age when they're cool again.

Well my Son would flip to see that! How did you get to???

I like Popetown, Futurama, and King of the Hill. Scare me, no.

I went thru a strange time once; after a night shift I would smoke a little pot and watch the Smurfs every morning.
(But I used to record Days of our Lives and watch it when I got up too. Sort of reflects on my life at the time huh?)

I loved the "Overlord" series, and it did disturb me the first time I watched it.

I prefer my animated movie length.
