When I got feedback from the first story I submitted, I realized it had been accepted. Somehow or other, I found a chart that showed how many readers, and how many votes. I didn't bookmark it, and can't seem to find it again. Can anyone give me the steps?

Also, if a story is not accepted, is there still no notification? Is it possible to resubmit to a different category, or find out why it was not accepted?

Thanks in advance for your help--

Hi gaigirl,

Go to the Lit. main page (www.literotica.com) and then to the story index page (link which says Stories and pics), then click on LOGIN and on the next page enter your username and password. It takes you to your memberpage. There, click on SUBMISSIONS and then on VIEW. There are the details about your stories.

If a story isn't accepted, there is a status next to it which should say something like pending or not accepted or rejected.

Yes, you can resubmit it to a different category, but before that find out why it wasn't submitted. There's usually a reason given when you click the link in the status. That's so you won't make the same mistake while submitting it again.

Good luck with your submissions. :)

another question

I have another question on the same thread. I submitted a story on friday (noonish) and it is not monday (noonish) and it still has not been approved or disapproved. How long does it usually take?

..jes to dang excited to see my story posted! :D

If you submitted via a cut and paste into the text box or uploded text file -- ie you could preview your story -- it takes 48-72 hours, depending on how many other submissions Laurel has to deal with at the same time.

If you uploaded a Word DOC file or a RTF file, then it can take a week to ten days, depending on how many other stories are submitted in those formats that Laurel has to deal with.

If you happened to submit on a day when fifty or a hundred other stories were submitted, it may take longer than normal because Laurel generally won't post more than one page of new stories on any given day. She tries to keep the number of new stories each day fairly consistent, holding stories from busy submission days to even out slow submission days.

I've also noticed a tendency to favor one or two categories in each day's posting. If your story is in the incest category and submitted on a day when she posted mostly incest stories, then it may be a week before she gets back to the incest category. (Incest is just an example, BTW. It's not the only category that seems to get posted in batches.)

Time Taken to Post

The best I ever had was twenty-four hours. Seventy-two is more realistic, but that presupposes everything is going OK for Laurel. Weekends seem to be busier because it seems to me that all the new audio stuff pops up on a Monday, which may mean 'ordinary' stuff gets delayed.

I'm assuming here that you cut-and-pasted through the submission option in your member page. If you uploaded a Word document or similar it could take a while longer.
