A brief overview for people not familiar with the manga/series, this is my brief description:
Fullmetal Alchemist is set in an alternate timeline to ours. When the industrial age hit in our world, they went a different route and discovered Alchemy. Alchemy is the art of breaking down something into its base elements, and reforming it in the fashion you see fit. Its not about creating, its not about taking away. Its all about being one with your surroundings and being able to shape your world.
The setting will be in Amestris, and will not feature the people of FMA. We will be building our world around us. Given places will still be there, but creative freedom will be given to players to design the world as they play. The storyline I'm about to tell you will be the base for our actions and events in game, and we will be free to play how we want.
Storyline:
The Ishval Cival War is upon us. The tension is in the air as summits between the Ishval Elders and King Bradley start to drag on. Three years ago, King Bradley sent his finest State Alchemists into Ishval to settle a dispute between the Kanda and Daliha districts. With the conflict resolved, King Bradley knew it was only a matter of time before something worse broke out.
The Ishval Elders are stubborn in their ways. No alchemist is welcome, and assistance will be resisted. Ishval may be peaceful, but peace can only go so far...
Meanwhile, at central, a spree of disappearances has broken out and is rumored to be spreading to the other areas of Amestris. Nobody can explain where people are going, and with King Bradley building up his forces of military and State Alchemists, who will defend the people?

For the first few days it will be a 'jump in' sort of recruitment for this role play. All I ask is that you post yourself here first so we can know who you are.

*Hometown and Area; Hometown is what you make of it. You can come up with it, but don't just pick something like 'Los Angeles'. Some examples are Risembool in the East Area, Rush Valley in the South Area. The five areas you have to pick from are North, South, East, West, and Central.
**Class is rather important. Its pretty free form, but you still have to know what you do. You will fall into these categories: Alchmist, Military, Mechanic, or normal citizen. If you pick an alchemist, please specify if you're a State Alchemist(military), or Regular. Military is pretty much the standard military, you can classify what you do in it, or an area of expertise. If you choose to become a State Alchemist, please put your state Alchemist name after your name in [brackets]. Only state alchemists are privileged to carry such an honor. If you decide to be military, you can declare if you're current military, honor/dishonor discharge, private militia, etc. Normal Citizens can be anything from regular common folk to criminals.
Yes we have guns in this game, yes we have automail(mechanical prosthetics for people). Please make yourself believable when it comes to your Alchemical abilities and automail.

Alexander grew up a hard life. His father was a lowly Automail Mechanic. Alex's mother came from Ishval when she was a young child. He got his looks from his mother, with light bronze skin and deep red eyes. He became fit helping his father while he was younger move metal that he used in his shop, and continued to work out often. With his slender body and tough look, many people fear him as they would a thief, but Alex has a heart that overflows with compassion. On one of her trips to Central to register a passport to return to Ishval to see family, Alex went with his mother and discovered alchemy.
It was amazing, he watched as a team of state alchemists helped work on rebuilding a State Library destroyed in a fire, bringing the books back to life right out of the ashes. He promptly started studying alchemy and started helping his father make automail by shaping the metal in ways his father only dreamed. Alex eventually persued a State Alchemist title, and passed the test with flying colors by transmuting metals nearby to form a slick barrier that reflected attacks, and was then broken up and used as multiple projectiles to subdue other alchemists in the test. With his fluid work with metals and ability to shape it into an almost liquid form, King Bradley awarded him the title Soft-Metal Alchemist.
