hey all. just would like some feedback on this poem. what do you think it's about? i get both praises and fuck-offs from this. i don't get it. i was just bein' honest...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
full of bull
you all want beautiful
you’re bellies are never full
a handful of ass
a chestful of breasts
a roomful of women for your eyes to molest
you put them through a test
to find the sexiest
materialistic masquerade
barbie doll custom-made
spend a pocketful of money just to get your ass laid
quit your fucking charade
i’m never gonna be played
you call beauty painful
force-feed me a spoonful
then you tell me to look natural
the world is hypocritical
Well... I read all of your posts just now. And included the 'signs' poem in our 'New poems' mentions above.
But this one struck me as someone getting to know the world, making what to many is an obvious conclusion.
Some may criticize you for stepping on their egos "spending money" on their "Barbie dolls." In which case, I'm more of a "live and let live" -type. I have acquaintenance who do that, and that's their life, not mine.
The "hypocritical" statement at the end seems set off as though it's a discovery, which, of course, it isn't.
Criticizing "Madison Avenue" and "Wall Street" for selling beauty is an old road, trod many times over.
If you write on it, you better create something new.
My thoughts.
The same thing maybe discovered by many people in there own good time, is discovering how the world around you works not part of self discovery?
I would totally agree with the theme of the of the poem, so long as it is realized that it is not every mans veiw to fuck a 'barbie doll'. Personally I liked the poem.
As for hypocritical, that is the world that we live in.
What Judo Said!
Also, in line two:
you’re bellies are never full
"you're" should be "your".
