The building to reactor #4 at the Fukashima Daiichi nuclear power plant has been so badly damaged by the fire and explosion that it is at risk of collapsing, and if it collapses, it could cause a global nuclear catastrophe of biblical proportions.
Even a small earthquake could bring the reactor building crashing down.
The 1,500 "MOX" spent fuel rods in the spent fuel pools would spill out and release an amount of radiation into the environment hundreds of thousands of times greater than that of Chernobyl.
Apparently a single MOX fuel rod with 7% plutonium is capable of killing 3,000,000,000 people.

Plutonium is the single most dangerous element known to man.
1,500 of them spilling into the outside environment could cause an extinction-level event of both humans and animals along with a complete and utter collapse of the ecosystem.
