Kingdom of Lasteron
Ewyn, human high mage of Lasteron walked down the darkened passage, deep in the bowels of the Dwarvish hall. Her elegant dress covered her shoulders and flows down into a beautiful jewel scoop neckline. Her small breasts produced a hint of cleavage. Her arms were covered to her elbows but it stopped there, freeing her fore arms and hands for spell casting.
The dress' waist was narrow, and fit her slim figure. Below the waist the dress widens as was the style these days ending above her traveling shoes. The dress was comfortable yet graceful. Her beautiful face, sparkling blue eyes and blonde hair were framed by gorgeous diamond crown.
She held a torch in her right hand. The light dances on the stones of the old passage. A passage as old as the bones of the Lasteron. She walked up to a stone door. Two runes neatly hewed into the rock, were barely visible in the orange glow of her torch.
She spoke the opening words and pressed the ruins. The stone door slide away and she walked into the scry chamber. An old dwarf hag looked up from the scry orb in the middle of the room. Her eyes filled with hurt and pain.
“Eartha?” Ewyn asked in alarm seeing the pain on the female dwarf’s face.
“Heimon and his knights have failed” The old woman croaked out. She was about to break into sobs.
Ewyn gasped “is he … dead?” She asked.
Eartha knew the answer would hit Ewyn hard. Heimon and Ewyn were lovers and his death would destroy Ewyn.
"All have perished. None survived the assault." She told the high mage. To Ewyn’s credit, there was only a small falter in her stance. But she caught herself and did not fall. “Ewyn I’m so sorry…” Eartha started to say, tears running down her winkled face, but Ewyn held her hand up to stop her.
“There is time to mourn later. We must act to save our lands or the demons will have won.” Ewyn said. Eartha nodded in agreement.
“I have consulted the great oracle. It stated we still have a chance. We must seek unique and unusual champions. One not known for being champions.” Eartha explained.
Ewyn nodded “Then we will need to use the calling stone. I shall cast the spell immediately.”
“These odd champions will be called to our land… they may not fight the demons. They may be more angry at those that called them. This is a dangerous path you select.” Eartha advised.
“We have no other choice.” Ewyn concluded.
