Ditto. I think the funniest quote to come out of this so far (though there are many funny ones) is from the Lars/Chuck D. debate on Charlie Rose, where Lars said something to the effect of, "If you don't want to pay $16 for a CD, you're the greedy one!" What makes this even funnier is that the major record labels were recently indicted for price fixing of CD's.
This is revenge, big-time. The recording industry thought they could keep on gouging the consumer, forcing us to pay $16-25 for an album. If they'd kept their prices lower, Napster would've been less attractive.
And BTW, if Napster hurts CD sales so much, why is the new Britney Spears record on pace to break all sales records? Why did it sell 500,000 it's first week? That album's available all over Napster.
It's a joke. Napster's good for artists, bad for greedy record labels. The artists against Napster are ignorant puppets for corporate greed.
