Clash of the Titans. Even though it's been a long time since I last saw it, I remember every fucking part of that movie. It was my favorite movie for a really long time too. However, think how amazingly cool it would be if they remade it.

First of all, Persius was a wuss. He was all about his hair and shit, and that sucked.
Andromeda was hot, but useless. Even the magical scene when she is taken by the giant buzzard to the swamp lost me for her total inability to be a real woman, rather than a whimpishly needy plot device. I really think she could have been much more a heroine that she was made out to be. Beauty should be the only thing she is known for.
Medusa could have been so much utterly cooler. I don't really need to say anymore with this.
The Crackus was a clear fake 'godzilla like' model and although I am totally down with cheesy special effects, it would be neat to see it looking all legit.
The Owl was cool. Too bad he was stupid and always flew into things. But hey, goofy fake animals are fun.
Speaking of flying... Poor Pegasus. What a bunch of waisted effort they made him have to perform. See, horses that fly don't need to run in the air at the same time. They're fucking flying for fucksake.

Anyway, I could go on and on... well, let me mention the Gods. They could have been a bit more omniscent and alluringly intreguing. In that movie they were made out to be idle fucks who sit around complaining alot as they watch the world go by. It would have been much cooler to see them interact more fluidly with their ties to nature, than just that one scene where Poisiden releases the Crackus, which for the time was done rather well.

What all do you think could be added/changed to better this story for a future remake?

I think you're absolutely right... a lot of the special effects could be redone completely (i.e. battling a huge scorpion)

Oh GOD YES! Excellent thought!

Being a scorpio myself, that scene was heart renching, but to tell you the truth, the effects where so choppy back then. Shadowing was lame and at night under that bright moon, shadows could become a psycological weapon.

i love that film but i always get the scenes mixed up between that and jason and the argonauts

one of the gods needs to be a lesbian though ... the greeks were meant to be all for homosexuality surely one of the gods had to be gay ?

Considering when the movie was made the effects by
Ray Harryhausen were quite brilliant.

Remember there were no computer effects then.

I personally think the time is ripe for a Xanadu remake.

And a new installment in the "Breakin" series: "Breakin 3: Unplugged Boogaloo."

i liked the skeletons in jason and the argonauts must of taken ages to do and they are probably still the best special effects i've seen for skeletons in a movie :)

There are a lot of movies i would like to see remade before Ocean's 11. There is no way Clooney and Pitt could improve on the original.

Remake 'Excalibur' with good actors and special effects

i like that film just the way it is ... but i must admit the acting is naff in places ... like most of it but its cool :)

One of my al-time fav's too

I wonder who'd play the Harry Hamlin part now...

Seeing a better owl, even though I loved him, would be cool, as would a better Medusa. She was too.... machine-like, and could be wonderfully human now.
And I'd like to see Godzilla battle the Kraken...

Hell, I'd like to see all the rubber monster movies re-done. Except Godzilla vs Hedora. That one's fine.

i don't know about doing a remake. i've got some pretty good memories fo that movie from when my dad took me to see it as a little kid. the gods were ment to be less involved and complaining, dear starfish. that's the way they were in greek mythology, always whining, complaining, and causing trouble for fun. yeah there were a thing or two, maybe, that could be improved efx wise. the shots of posideon under the water could use some work. the parts of the beginning with posideon as a bird need some work. the craken isn't too bad, medusa seems ok, maybe work on bubo the owl a bit. i'd say just some clean up work on the whole thing more than anything. take out the optical matte lines where the effects lay over the actual print. little stuff.

now that i think of it, one movie i'd redo is flash gordon. if you;ve ever seen it then i need go no further.:)

I was going to nominate Excalibur for a remake but decided not to. I agree that it's great the way it is.
