Trying this for the first time.
I may not be the best at it.
But as I was told as a kid --- If you don't try it, you don't know if you will like it, or whether you are any good at it!!!!!
So here goes.
Anyone is welcome to chip in a bit _ if you don't have the time to type a bit just PM me with suggestions!!

It was dusk when he arrived at the gate to the drive, 3 hours had dragged with his aching backside planted on the leather seat of the car.
The rain had been cascading down the windscreen the whole journey, delaying him by about half an hour, but now he pressed the gate release, and knew that within ten minutes he would be in her arms for the suprise to hopefully make her week.
The gate opened.
She had no idea when they spoke the night before. He'd told her work was stacking up and there was little chance of him getting to even make a phone call over the next few days.
The rain noise would cover him as he slowly rolled the car down the drive, he spotted the room light on, as he neared the house and switched the engine off, He rolled the car to a halt.
Getting out of the car he pulled up his tie, put his jacket on and locked the car with the key rather than the remote - avoiding the usual high pitched bleeb as the security set its self.
He climbed the stairs from the side of the house, crossed the veranda to the back door and unlocked it.
He opened the door and stepped inside the darkened kitchen. Closing the door behind him, he gently leaned back against it. he stood there and took a long slow breath, home at last............................
