Frustrated with the roleplayers!

hey what am I? Chopped liver? Go start something..... srp....

And you are?

Hang around long enough and, in time, you'll find your first complaint is a direct result of your second.

Keep writing.
Produce quality work.
Soon enough, you'll attact a small group of fellow writers you feel comfortable working with.
Then you'll be clannish too.

;)

clannish? we are clannish? woohoo..
where's Roger when I need him. Not sure which clan I belong to anymore.

Hell...I have a heck of a time understanding what they are writing.....The spelling is atrocious at times..and I dont speak gibberish as a normal rule...have you all seen that Poohlive guy/girl?...I can barely understand anything he/she writes....

"Right on,Brother!"

Well Morwen thats the reason I quit posting on the SRP board.

It seems like you have a hand-full of people that think they have to be in every tread.Then once their in,they have to take control of the whole tread.

I tried to get in a tread not to long ago,and before I knew it,the other charactor had left me out of the story.

So I just said,"FUCK IT"and I don't bother posting on them no more.

Sorry, I don't post to the role play boards. Public displays of sex? OMG! :eek:

:D:D:D:D:D

"Common Cheyenne!"...I think you would be very good at it.

Nothing like acting out all them erotic thoughts that one has.Especially after a "HARD" days work.:lol:

:D

I think I'd have a hard time with the time delays in SRP. It is easier for me to imagine a scenario "as it is happening" in real time. I'm not sure I'd be able to be another character, either. I can be me, since I know how to do that. But trying to be someone else? I don't know.

Wait a minute here, I have written a number of fairly good pieces that had to be abandoned due to lack of intelligent male input. Go look up my threads-I just start to weave the story and poof-alone. The Beltane thread went well, but some of my favorites are the early threads-the first stories that appeared. I am a woman who adores roleplay as it allows me to sharpen my skills as a writer, but I get stuck wh a number of half finished pieces and it irritates me. I would love to participate in some quality roleplay, invite me!

A-men Nitelight

I clearly find your accusations rude and uncalled for. There is nothing against you, but some of us put a lot of work into our posts. Don't make the generalization that all of us can't spell nor do we make beautiful posts.

I work with Poohlive in almost all of my threads, he is genious. You have to get to know thier writing styles. That is part of being a RPGer, that is what makes you good or bad.

There are a select *few* who I would like to repeatedly hit with a fucking dictionary, but with the good come the bad...and sometimes, they are the extremely bad.

You also have to remember, some of them don't come from the same country, yeah, so....er...maybe only one of them does.

I would invite you to join one of my role playing threads, but I am afraid I am not good enough.

If only the role players and the chatters would kill each other off this would be a better place.

Morwen has a point.....there are some people I try and avoid on the RP board like the plague because it really pisses me off when you write a long thoughtful post and they just reel off a couple of lines with no punctuation and not even capitalization!

I'm surprised at the diss of poohlive....i've found him to be a good sparring partner on RP before.

Call me a bastard, but the last thread I started I specifically stated in the OOC that bad grammer and spelling would not be allowed! That only attracted good writers(one of which was a newbie), and it's going ok except for a couple of RL problemos at the moment affectin the posters.

So if you want to find good writers, I suggest you try what I did. It's cruel but if you want quality it has to be done...

Pooh has trouble spacing between paragraphs, probably cause it makes his posts twice as long (not a bad thing!) and cause he also has trouble with paragraphing subject continuity. And capitalization is a hit or miss with him. It's physically difficult to read, not because he's a bad poster, but cause of its format.

I SRP only rarely and usually when it's been worked out via IM with someone before beginning.

Dang it I'm a gril.. I mean girl..

Well, I come to this board quite often, everyday pretty much. i have gotten in on some role plays that I thought were okay but then fizzle out. I was getting terribly frustrated, then I said Hey F this, I'll start up a thread and try my hardest to make it work... and shocker it worked...

EarthGoddess I was really into that Dr roleplay you were in but you MALE character who by the way was VERY VERY good, burned out. (meaning he left)

Sometimes it does feel a bit cliquish here, but that is just because everyone knows everyone else and they all have formed little friendships. I feel lost here a lot... but I try not to let myself take it personally, it is just a board for god's sake...*sniffle*... It's okay not to be popular.

There is one guy on the SRP that I try to advoid, he can not spell, nor can he write! Sounds cruel? Yep, damn straight it is, he's one of the reasons I don't join certain threads on either forum.

Rules for role-playing (not intended for SRP but some rules should carry): Basic

Learn to Spell.
You are not God.
Learn proper punctuation.
Finish what you start.
Big posts on a few threads - not bitsy posts on all of them.
Learn to spell.
Fantasy must be more real than reality. (Incredibly important one here)
Learn to Spell.
UNLESS YOU ARE YELLING, DO NOT USE ALL CAPS.

Rules for Role-playing: Not so basic
You are not God, Satan, Dracula, High Emperor of the Universe, a half dragon, Aviator to the God or any other creature that could destroy all the people around you by passing wind.
There is only one reality and deciding and the majority decides what that is.
Do not change character midstream.
If you haven't learned to spell yet do so now.
Don't play a silent loner and then complain about the room being clannish.
Don't twinke unless you can twinke well.
If you're in Torment and you want to have sex you must go to Insanity.
Unless you've been here three months you're no one - deal with it.

...
I have more rules but you don't really want to read them.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ :cool: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Remember, there is no sex in Torment.
My biggest problem is when someone tries to control my character. This has a tendency to piss me off cause they usually do something that I know my character would not do.
If you want to move me about email me and ask. My email, MSN, ICQ and AIM are all listed...if you cant get ahold of me you arent trying.
We have Role Playing forums??? Wish someone would have told me.
:eek:
AFM I'll never post in one of your threads again mine. I'm sorry. I know that I have no skills..
Hey, I've been in a few RP wrestling threads. They all bomb though. It's like a curse at Lit. No wrestling thread can ever be succesful. There was one that was semi-successful, but that was it. Must be a Vince McMahon thing.
I've said part of this before, but my inital experience with Lit. was just to read the stories, then to chat, then to the Sexual Role Playing board and finally to the General board.
Along the way, I've seen lots of threads I thought had promise fizzle and dry up. And I've dropped out of a couple because of the one line post some of you have complained about.
Two of the threads I'm writing in now, I started with someone I talked to in Chat who wanted to try Role Play but didn't think they were good enough. I talked them into trying and both threads are still going, have a plot you can follow and have generated some heat as they moved along.
Yes, the boards can be clicish, so is live. Jump in and find a place where you think you can create a fun character.
If you hold up your end of the story, you'll find more and more opprotunities. I am one of the people who should probably spell check their work, but I usually type it here, not someplace else and I have yet to find the spell check here.
So quite your bitchin and get back in the game. If your as good as you think you are, we can use you.
