Ok, I know I am one of the younger generation here, but I also see the gap from my generation, to the next one already. What was your favorite toy, or toys when you were growing up?

I loved My Little Ponies, She-Ra (I had the castle), Strawberry Shortcake, Rainbow Bright, and Barbie.

I loved watching the Wuzzles on Saturday mornings. I loved She-ra and He-man on cartoons. Thunder Cats was another favorite show.

I am a product of the 80's, but boy, I would much rather take my kids back in time, and raise em there, then here.

it's frightening that i'm just a couple years younger than you (i loved all of those things when i was younger) but that you already have children and a husband, i can't even imagine myself married, much less with kids

These all apply to me!
I used to have concerts in my bedroom, with me and my sisters as backup for Debbie Gibson and Tiffany. I still have the Tiffany cassette! (And I still own more cassettes than cds).

If you got me started I could probably recite the Duck Tale Themes, I know I could do the Fresh Prince rap (but that wasn't from the 80s).
I puff painted a jean jacket once. ;)
I had a t-shirt ring.
They are selling slap braclets again (ouch!)
I currently own the Babysitter's Club Christmas Special on video.

7.) You had a crush on one of the New Kids on the Block members.
See the kid celeb crush thread. Oh Jordan! :D

63.) You used to compare your little brother to Ferguson
And I really hope that I'm not the only one who gets this!

Memories........

Not only did I have Babie and Ken....

Donnie and Marie were it!!! Donnie would get it on with Barbie and Ken with Marie. There were massive orgies and swapping in Barbie's camper and pool. For some odd reason, I don't recall them in the dream house.

I loved my skateboard. *looking at my knees* Yep, I remember where that scar came from.

I also was a slave to my easy bake oven.

Remember when it was politically correct to laugh at Archie and the Jeffersons?

I'm glad you all like the link i posted.. i never thought about posting it here.. until this post showed up.. god i miss my childhood.. you know.. when mom and dad paid the bills and when all you had to worry about was that zit on your nose? lol

christmas toys when i was a kid

most of you probably never heard of Johnny 7.
it was a toy rifle that converted into 7 different weapons.
hell, now i know where Arnie got his weapon ideas for his movies from LOL

and i also have (still) a toy robot. his name is Mr Mercury.
i got it when i was around 5 years old. i also had some rubber elephants and teddybears but they have fallen apart recently and i had to throw them out.

i still have my baby outfit from when i had my pic taken when i was a year old. i took my sons pic in it when he was a baby and i have since put the outfit away again.

60's toys

I remember Ms. Beasley it was my sisters favorite toy, if she saw that pic she would cry. I had the original G.I. Joe without life like hair, dog tags kackey uniform. I also had a bendable astronaut called Major Matt Mason, with a moon crawler, if anyone had a pic of that I would cry.;)

Hot Wheels

I used to have damn near every one made during the 60s. My mom let my brothers play with them after I moved out, my youngest brother is 9 years younger than me.

I recently looked at some of them on ebay.

I could almost hate my mother.:p

Guns. Caps. The caps were more fun than the guns, get a big rock, a whole roll...

Dirt clods.

Trees.

Marbles.

A hill a wagon or a sled, depending on the season.

The great outdoors!

Does anyone remember Growing Up Skipper?

you wound her arms and breasts popped out? now why would they discontinue such an educational tool for young people? hmm?
