Some maligned it in its day as "a bonbon thrown to the workers from their Masters"
Most ignore it as an end to the summer. I like to think of it as a bit more important. We take a moment to reflect on sacrifices of those who fight for the country, I think it's worth taking a moment to think about the sacrifices of the people who make the country.
So if you're in the US - give a moment to think about those folks who brought you The Weekend, who got gunned down marching on the Pullman strike and who got burned out of Triangle. And take a moment to feel accomplished about whatever it is you do to increase the GNP and put food on your table.
