from submission to publication

Does it take exactly 72 hours or much more for publication of a submission?

It can run 3 to 5 days especially if there is a contest underway, which there will be one starting tomorrow. Contest submissions usually take one day or less.

If you've already submitted, do not fool around with your story unless you feel it really necessary. On your submissions page, the submitted story should have a "pending" link in the block of information. Don't click it as it may send your story back to the end of the line.

There's a little uncertainty about whether clicking on the "pending" link on your submissions page sends your story to the back of the queue, or whether you'd have to click on "resubmit" after clicking "pending" for that to happen. Best is just to let it alone, and make any editing changes after the story has been posted.

Good luck. :)

If it is your first ever submission, it takes longer probably because the owners have to check more closely that you have followed Literotica's few rules e.g. no one under 18 being remotely sexual.

Once you have posted a few stories the process speeds up, except for a non-contest submission when a contest is running.

3 to 5 days is a good average from my limited experience. I submitted two stories and got them rejected in 4 days. After rewriting those two stories (to fix dialogue) it took only 2 days to get one story published and the other is still pending but it's the weekend, I don't mind waiting.
