From Memory

[MikeSaidNo]

I drew this from memory. It was a sort of Bronx manga style cartoon about a homeless guy. He had a crush on a girl who would visit him sometimes, (she may have been a case worker) He would also get lost in an imaginary world where he became a super hero of sorts ...he may or may not have had had these yellow claws.

If this jogs anyone's memory, I'd like to find out what it was called. it was over 20 years ago. I can't remember if it was a TV show or a film.

It's so weird that this is an awful synopsis, like a dreamstate, but I still knew exactly what you were talking about.

The Maxx. This is actually a really good story.

Now that you've pointed it out, his synopsis is fitting because the cartoon takes place is a surreal dreamstate like setting.

holy shit! I was a kid when I saw this and I honestly never thought I'd find it again. It's funny how poorly I remembered the image...mine looks nothing like it ...but I did suspect it might be similar enough to trigger someone's memory...thanks guys

You really oughta give the comics a read if you've just seen the show. You can never judge a book by it's movie. Everything makes more sense in the comics if you stick with it.

It was on MTV. I think it was part of Liquid Television. They also used to show Aeon Flux shorts as well if memory serves.

I'm now reasonably certain that Julie Winters is the reason this show etched itself on my brain all those years ago...We need a live action version with Kaley Cuoco
