Earth was in peril, a peril it had never faced before. The world Capitals where a buzz the headline Earth Threatened by Mysterious Message from Outer Space.

Date line November 8th 1932. At 12 noon the broadcasts of the radios of the world where taken over by a mysterious force that threatened the world with destruction if it did not unconditionally surrender within the six months to the galactic emperor Change the Merciless. Initially the threatens where taken as a spoof Like Mr. Wells recent War of the Worlds broadcast yet a preciously 12:30 PM a red light streaked from the skies over for Fort Sills Oklahoma and the U.S. Army post was utterly destroyed. At the same time Military post where destroyed in England, France, Germany, Russia, and Japan. World leaders flocked to The League of Nations in Paris and for three days they argued what course of action to take. The world holds its breath waiting for their decision; will it be war or surrender?’

The Leaders of the major powers on earth could not agree on the course of action to be taken until a brilliant, but eccentric Russian Scientist Karl Karpovff put forth a plan to fly to the meritorious planet and take the fight to the unknown enemy. He claimed to have a craft capable of making the voyage, and he would need another scientist to aid him and a pilot. Faced with little choice the assembled leaders reluctantly agreed to Karpovff plan. The call went out, but their where few takers, for what they saw as nothing less than suicide. Finally a British test pilot Malcolm Masters volunteered. He was a daring rough and a highly skilled pilot. Yet no other scientist so far had come forward to answer Professor Karpovff call.

Lucy Rosenberg had heard of the rumors of a insane plan to save their world , she decide to look into the details. The scientist himself appeared to be a bit eccentric but the situation itself was surreal. The very idea that he created a craft for such a mission seem unreal, so she contacted fellow scientists. They all seem to think he lost his mind and that the plan would not even work which was a possibility.
But what if it did and they were all missing an opportunity of a lifetime. Most large discovery all seem to begin this very way...so she began to read into all his work and the possibilities. After a while she decided she be wiling to risk for such an adventure...
She gather her resources and head to meet the few daring men on an impossible mission. She made her way through the crowd and volunteered for the mission. A part of her was excited of the possibility as another was terrified to be reknowned as a fool for following an eccentric scientist.

The Secret service Agent looked at the address for the third time before rapping on the door when a petite young woman that looked more like a Liberian answered he knew it was a mistake. Women where suppose to be mothers, teachers, Liberians, not scientists.

Doctor Rosenberg, you sent in a resume applying for the position of science officer, you've been accepted, pack so we can leave."

It was only when her eyes flared, her hands on her hips that the secret service officer noticed that far from being an old maid that she was a rather attractive young woman, but there was a determination in those cool eyes that sent an involuntary shudder down his back. He had to admit she had moxie.

Professor Karpovff would like to see you.

With sirens blaring a local police car flanked by an escort of motorcycles sped through the city and to the airport. They pulled up next to a brand new P38 pursuit ship the cockpit was open and the pilot waved Lucy to climb aboard. Her bag was thorn into a cargo hatch and before she knew what was happening they where air borne and head south and east. They landed only twice to refuel, and to take care of necessities. And then they where off again. After 12 hours in the air they reached their destination in Florida, a small Army Air Corps air field. A staff car was waiting for Lucy and she was whisked away to a hanger on the far side of the field.

When Lucy was ushered into the hanger the officer accompany her announced

Miss Lucy Rosenberg.

All eyes turned towards her. There was the German Physicist Albert Einstein, Goddard of MIT was there as well as a stooped little old man with wild white hair bushy eyebrows, and a pointed goatee.

“Doctor Rosenberg I am Professor Karpovff and I was very impressed with your supposition that the planet threatening us is not a natural planet but manmade. Why do you think so?”

It was just at this moment that Group Captain Malcolm Masters came sauntering in a dashing figure in his RAF uniform with ruggedly good looks.

“Professor would you have your secretary there get me a coffee.”

The Group Captain automatically assumed the only reason for a women to be present was that she was one of the scientist’s secretary or some other menial clerical assistant.

Lucy Rosenberg turns as a man interrupts them with her cold dark blue eyes as she smiled: " Speak when spoken too.." *turns to the Professor* "....as i was about to answer Professor Karpovff before i so rudely interrupted.... as my research indicated their were a few critical clues which i am shock to find people have ignored...and its all points in this direction...as i indicated here...*points to a page among the several folders she carries. *curses under her breathe as strands of her long raven hair slip out of her messy bun.She dries to blow it out of her view as she points to her notes. Her white robe covering her mid length black skirt and top white blouse, she tried to find her balance carrying her stack of folders as she stood in her new blue high heels. She was quite petite, 5'0 to be exact which is why she wore heels . She was quite athletic as she competed in tennis since she was a teen and still played as a hobby with her friends.*

Lucy’s cold steely gaze met Group Captain Malcolm Masters knocked him back on his heels.

" Speak when spoken too..."

There was fire in her eyes and that cold steel gaze of her azure blue eyes took on a hint of violet, which soften the austere look of the dark haired woman. Her hair had a blue iridescence of a raven on the wing. Then she turned on her heel her back to him summarily dismissing him from her thoughts and began discussing her theories with Dr. Karpovff.

"As for your question Doctor the fact is that it doesn't move properly. …………its path isn’t elliptical but a perfect circle. With the other planets circling that star the odds of that happening are astronomical."

Karpovff was deep in thought when Lucy had finished and he finally nodded,

“Yes that is quite true Miss Rosenberg, No one else has noticed that fact.”

He then extended his hand to Lucy. It was not that condescending hand shake that men give women but it was firm, sold like a man's handshake.

“Welcome to the team. You will I am sure prove to be a most valid addition.”

The next two weeks where a flurry of activity. Professor Einstein explained that he believes time could be folded and by that means the intrepid space travels should be able to reach the planet in plenty of time to complete their mission. Dr. Goddard was busy designing the engine that would power the craft. As for Group Captain Malcolm Masters, he made several half hearted passes at Lucy. He was charming, and told her to call him “Dash “, and he apologized for his the rudeness of their first meeting. “Dash” had an infectious boyish charm that made it hard to stay angry with him for very long and an equally shallow self absorbed personality as if was he that was important and she, if with him merely window dressing..

One day during the morning meeting a general of the U.S. Army Air Corps came in to inform those working on project “X” that the flight crew had been selected.

“Gentlemen, and Miss Rosenberg the crew of or rocket has been selected. Group Captain Malcolm Masters of His Majesty’s Royal Air force will be the Pilot, Professor Karl Karpovff of Russia will be the engineering officer, and Miss Raven Sinclair of the United States will be the Science Officer.

Your Mission will be to get to Planet ”X” and destroy their ray beam weapon.”

The General paused as the room was buzzing with excitement.

“The space ship will be ready to launch by noon tomorrow. Good luck and God’s speed to you the world is depending on you three.”

There was little time for congratulations as the three where now fitted with the space suits for the mission. They were made of leather and form fitting when Karpovff saw Lucy blush at the fit he merely smiled .

”Miss Rosenberg it is to protect you from the forces of the launch and time travel.”

Dash however gave her a thumbs up and that boyish smile of his.

“ Very Nice Lucy quite fetching in fact.”

He paused and then became almost serious.

”Are you sure you want to do this Lucy the chances of us getting back are rather slim you know.”

Lucy Rosenberg has been ignoring all of Captain Malcolm Masters after all their first encounter was not her best experience. She had no intention to acknowledge his existence or a tleast that was the plan. She could not afford to be distracted by her feelings of annoyance when it came to such an important mission. She purposely called him mister Masters as she she refuse to boost his ego by calling his Dash. Yet slowly "Dash grew on her...like a fungus...

Lucy smiles back at Karpovff, she was trying to appear cool but deep down restraint the urge to jump up and down and do a quick dance as she was soo giddy. She glance at Dash before smiling back, thinking ;His such a perv but a least he is cute.

Lucy glanced at Dash: " The suit actually makes you look good. great illusion effect" *smirks as she nods as reply to his question

Lucy told herself this might not work but she will give it her best try.
