Friggin' Trash Guys! @#$%*$^$@#!!!

WHY do the trash guys come so early during Spring Break?

I mean honestly, every other week they show up around noon.

We've spent the past week doing some serious cleaning; we have damn near 20 bags on top of the two huge dumpster-things already filled to the brim.

Why is it today they swing around our house at 8:00 friggin a.m. when we are attempting to sleep off a night of drunken debauchery and wild sex?

And now we have to go another week with half our garage filled with trash???

I know, I know. In terms of world events, this isn't a big deal. Certainly not angst-worthy.

Maybe I'm still hung over. (But it still pisses me off.)

Anyone else pissed off at someone who is just trying to do their job?

Yes. I've had three telemarketing calls this morning. Each one of them was rude and 'forced' me to hang up on them. Is that really necessary?

Also, I'm pissed at my kids. They're just doing their job by coloring on the wall, chewing the corner of the table cloth, breaking the crayons in half and peeling the paper off of them entirely, banging on the door of the bathroom until I finally come out, throwing food on the floor and rubbing it in their hair...and it's not even noon here.

Oh...and they said to tell you that they're pissed that I'm doing my job by enforcing timeouts, diaper changes and naptimes. We're just one big happy working environment over here.

LOL!! Oh boy can I sympathize with the diaper changes and looking forward to naptimes!

Only one of my four is in school, so her being home doesn't really add much to the chaos that the boys cause. Luckily, it's been very pretty outside, so they've spent alot of spring break running (or pedaling) off all of that energy!

Oh yeah. I had to see the doctor on Wednesday, various check-up type crap. Hadn't been to a doctor is WAY too long. Point is, one of the things they had to do is run some blood tests, and I'm pissed at the nurse who drew the blood. I have no problem having my blood drawn, it's not the at-the-time part I'm pissed about. It's that two days later the crook of my arm is still sore because she left a bruise. It's a pet peeve of mine, my aunt is an RN who pretty much does nothing but draw blood, and so I know bruising the damned patient is avoidable.

So I join you in your harumph. Some one kiss it make it better, it's hard to type with a bruise that I notice any time I move my arm or hand at all.

We have it the other way round, until recently they came at about 7am each Tuesday, they now arrive at about 1pm on Wednesday, nobody bothered to tell us about the change, just left us with a pile of smelly crud on the front drive all day and night.

I see you're someone that's almost as big a masochist as me. I have 5 kids. ;)

I'm in the running for that level of masochism too. We only have three kids (12, 8, and 4), but we run a day-care in our home.

And ya wonder why I find it hard to write, let alone post in forums, some weeks? <shrug><wry smile>

Sounds like you live in Philly, they've just changed the schedules downtown and have made a mess of it. Ok, that pun wasn't intended, but it works.

Yes, it does work - :)

Actually, we seem to have recovered from our morning trash guy angst.

BUT - the garage space is full of bags, and the temperature promises to be fairly warm for the next week. I do not look forward to the stinky-ness of said garage before next Friday!

Okay this isn't really related and our garage smells anyway, but our garbage came today at 8:00 a.m. sharp. As always.

The thing is, my husband who normally does all garbage duties (speciall training at beginning of marriage), is out of town today and tomorrow. It's windy as hell here and as I sit on the back patio I can hear the empty can rolling all over the place.

I'm suffering a severe bout of laziness right now and am really thinking I'll leave it out there all night. Which means I'll have to trudge down the alley in the morning to find it seven houses down, but oh well.

Okay, after thinking about it...I know I'll go pick the damn thing up, but it would've helped my lazy streak if the garbage didn't come today and the damn thing was still weighted down enough for me to not have to deal with it.

See, now it looks like you're trying]/i] to make your garage smell like Philly, south philly in particular

:D

Actually, I shouldn't bitch about things.

We've had a week off from educating young fertile minds, my husband and I were able to spend a great deal of time with each other and our two young kids, we actually got our taxes done, we caught up a few bills (sort of - all things being relative) and we are now able to see the floor in all the bedrooms and the living room.

The basement has become a box depository (except for the kid's play area) but who cares? People can walk into our house and actually believe it is clean.

(That is, of course, until they smell the garage.)

:D
