We were talking the other day about "Friends With Benefits" and I thought I'd start a thread on it.

A "Friend with Benefits" is someone you have a friendship with and sometimes "de-stress" with sexually without the benefit of a higher form of commitment or exspectations.

Some simple rules are:

Don't make a friend exspecting benefits.
This is, basically, just another way to lie to someone to get sex. "I will pretend to be her/his friend because I want sex but I don't want commit to anything".

Don't forget to be a friend after getting benefits.
Which ties into:
Don't only call your friend when you want benefits

If you were friends frist and then you ignore that person after having sex with them, then things start getting awkward. Don't change your friendship rituals after having sex. If you always called them up and told them about a game/concert/sale/funny thing...still do. And don't exspect sex everytime you seen them from then on. Keep it casual. "If your bored later, I'm not doing anything and you can stop by." is a nice easy way of suggesting something.

Don't Blab
By telling other people you're getting benefits you are betraying the trust of your friend on many levels: As a friend, as a lover, and as a decent person. Plus, you might be putting them in the awkward postion of trying to explain why they don't give those benefits to other people.

Be nice
Say please, say thank you, and say that was just what I needed or that was good even if it wasn't. Your getting a gift of that persons time and body, react as such.

Thank you. I've never had one, myself, but many of my friends (on both sides...since they were sleeping with each other in a very confused sorta Melrose Place sorta way) have and I've seen the joys and the mistakes people have made.

Would like one tho. But all my friends that I think are sexy are already getting enough!;)

While it sounds intriguing...I don't think I could ever do that...um in my circumstances anyway. I guess being married has a hold on me. Tempting, yes. Actuallity? Just don't know if I would or even could.

There may possibly be such a thing as too much curiousity. heh heh.;)

Just remember c2c that curiousity killed the cat. ;)

I've found that to be true of gay men, 'Setti, but not gay women.

Then again, the scales balance more towards men looking for free sex than women.

Which is why I think more women like the Friends with Benefits option, because it gives them release *hey, human too, ya know* with someone we know and trust instead of some stranger off the street.

I agree with you. Gay men are still men, and gay women are still women, and the most notable gender differences pertain as much, if not more, to them than to heterosexuals.

ooops
i voted yes more than one, but was wrong
i miss understood the question
sorry

i thought you meant like 'friends you can go visit' etc!

Now you have to go have sex with several of your friends, or else your reputation for honesty will be ruined.

*giggles at Hairgrip* Then I won't be jealous, as I had planned. ;)

And 'Setti, I have friends of all types and always try to accept a person as the sum of their parts, and not accept or reject them because of one aspect of them. My daughter is bi, and we have many friends of all types, so I have a lot of...um...subjects to compare and contrast with.

I can tell that you do. Every thing I've read of yours shows you to be a very open minded and fair person.

will you be my spokeswoman?
or my agent if our band should ever get famous?

:D

Thank you, and bless you back.

I don't know....I have some very nice male friends who are friends with benefits with some of my female friends.

I wish they were mine too, but if they don't offer I don't want to damage our friendship by asking.

I think that's under the don't ask/dont' tell clause.;)

Sure sweets, or better yet your PA since the PA is the person who runs around and makes sure your agent and spokes people get things right. A PA is the "my people" in "my people will call your people". ;)

Hey!

I just had a thought!

If your band gets famous I'll get some groupie leftovers!

What kind of band is it, so I know how to dress?

I'll be the "friend of the band who gets the benefits from the fan who wants to meet the band".

Ohhhh, that's so naughty!
