I just happened to run into her on MSN, and received some very sad news.

SS is at home with her family and very sick as she undergoes chemotherapy for ovarian cancer. The chemo therapy is working and should last another six weeks. Apart from the fact that it makes her too ill to do most things, including get on-line, it's a good thing.

Simply Southern says:
so, about 6 weeks of being sick and then the slow trrek back to the land of the normal
Juspar says:
I'll quote you on that
Simply Southern says:
OK
Simply Southern says:
quote me on this too....Bald is beautiful.

Her brothers have joined her with shaved heads, she has obviously retained her sense of humor

Please don't inundate her, however she does check her e-mails if you want to send her a message. MSN, or Lit if you have them.

OMG I had no idea

:p

That explains her comment on another thread today about the effects of being bald. I suspected, but was afraid to ask, and was hoping she was referring to someone else.
Please let her know we are all thinking about her and wishing her well.

That is such sad news. I had no idea. I just don't know what to say. Simply Southern, if you read this, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Simply Southern

is not the same person as Simply Me.

Newbies will probably not know her.

Simply Me, you may recall a thread where you asked about changing your name, this was who I thought you were being confused with.

I an pass on e-mails, or give out the address to certain people. Heck, you can probably look up her profile.

Bald IS Beautiful, my Aunty just went through breast cancer and having Chemo.

Simply Southern is also beautiful and I wish her all the very best for the future, and I know she will come out of this a strong happy person, as she usually comes out of everything else ... smiling and the one cracking the jokes :)

Good luck SS, my thoughts are with you :)

Say it isn't so!!

I had no idea! I saw her post on another thread and was so glad to see such a delightful old friend return. But this news is dreadful.

My prayers, like those of all who know her, are for your swift and complete recovery!

I absolutely hate it when bad things happen to good people.

Hang in there, love, if anyone can beat this thing, it's you!!

Please let her know she hasn't been forgotten here. And we hope to see her back on the boards again soon!

missing you S.S.

get well soon and get back on board with us!
sending you the best wishes and lots of hugs.

my sister lost her hair as well, and it grew back better than ever!

Dragged into the limelight!

Well, I suppose I should say something.

First, thanks to those of you that send good wishes and happy thoughts. Second, an apology for my disappearance with no explaination. By the time they found the cancer and did the original surgery (which we thought was the end of it) I really didn't have the time to post...or anything of merit to say.

When we realized it was a bit more than our first assessment, I found myself thrust into the throes of chemotherapy. (For those of you who don't know, chemo is a whirlwind of vomit) I have learned things about the inner workings of my body that I could have gone my whole life without knowing. (They even take pictures...as if you can share THOSE at the next family reunion) At any rate, I am almost done with my chemo and in approx. 6 weeks, if all goes according to plan, I will be done and in full remission.

Again, thanks. I am not online as much as I would like, but I do answer email and these new private message things are all the rave!

I'm hoping all of you are well!
