Soon Jenny will be joining Oman in their "lovenest" and I thought it would be fun to throw them a housewarming party. So everyone, please join me in celebrating with them and tell us what gift you would bring........

Oman and Jenny-

I don't know either of you very well but what you have is an inspiration. And Oman, you especially have been so kind and cheerful to so many of us when we needed it. Enjoy your party.;)

I bring a fine bottle of champagne, so that we may toast your many long years together.

This gift is more symbolic than anything, but it has a lot of meaning for two people beginning a new life together.

A loaf of bread, so you're never hungry.

A bottle of wine, so you're never thirsty.

A blanket, so you're never cold.

A penny, so you're never broke.

well I thought I would get something fun since everyone else is being so practical...

I have decided to bring bubblebath for two; lots of candles for both around the tub and the bedroom; scented oil for those all over massages; and my infinite friendship for both of you forever...like my signature says...."May you both live as long as you want; and not want as long as you live!" Best wishes! AA

I bring you a Forgiveness Glass.

Whenever one of you did something that upset the other, you fill this glass with the other's favorite beverage and hand it to them. If they accept it, all is forgiven.

I'd like to give you some Sade CDs...

You need a little mood music to go with all the candles, bubbles, wine and food.

Jenny and Oman, I bring you an evergreen houseplant and the wises that your life together be a long and loving one.

Goldfish!

According to Feng Shui, goldfish keep good energy flowing into one's living space...and they're gonna need every ounce of energy once Oman starts welcoming Jenny to HIS space! :D

Best wishes and  es to you both!

With so many lovely, meaningful gifts here, I thought I'd go for a fun gift for them.

I will bring the traditional Russian black bread and salt as a welcome into your new life together.

Love flowed from their fingertips
As they reach one for the other
Each knowing in their hearts
That this is their final destination

Their love has grown from but a spark
To an all comsuming flame
Two souls soon to be but one
As their lives merge into the others

Until there stands not two lovers
But one heart beating in two bodies
One soul with two halves
And one life with two lovers

Wishing you all the happiness in the world. Never lose what you have found in each other. Life will get bumpy and you'll lose sight of the trail but love will always bring you back to each other.

Thanks everyone for joining me!!! Please tell your friends about our little party!!!

In accordance with Reinassance Tradition ...I will leave a bonding wreath

A wreath that will decorate their home, as love decorates their lives. This wreath will let them remember the love shared by all of us here today.

The wreath has been created from ivy, a traditional symbol of Love and Friendship. The circular shape of the wreath symbolizes the never ending devotion that they pledge each other on this day. Ivy does not "feed upon" the tree or stone it clings to, and this is important to its symbolism. Nothing can separate ivy from a tree it has once embraced, and if the tree falls the ivy stays around it. But the ivy is held to the soil by its own roots. It gets nothing from the substance of the companion, and though it dies on the same spot, it dies in its own time, making its own independent gesture.

These are branches of larkspur, a traditional symbol of humor and levity, and dock, a symbol of patience. These are added with a wish that Jenny and Oman never lose the patience and humor which help to sustain their relationship through even the roughest times and which enrich their daily life.

This rosemary symbolizes remembrance. I add this to the wreath with the wish that Jenny and Oman never allow each other to forget the way that they feel today, and that they will always recall the romance and passion that they felt on the day of their meeting. This tarragon symbolizes the unselfish regard with which they should treat one another, today and always.

I add violets and snowdrops which symbolize faithfulness and hope. Jenny and Oman will need these traits throughout their lives together. Their faith and trust in one another will be strengthened as time goes on. Without hope, there is no chance of success. With hope they will realize that they can achieve every goal.

These roses symbolize the passion (hold up red roses before adding to wreath), the beauty (hold up burgundy roses) and unity (hold up red & white roses) that Jenny and Oman feel today. May they always take the time to find the beauty around them, the passion within them, and to feel strength that their unity provides them.

Hello,everyone
WOW. I hope you all know how much your gifts, thoughts, wishes
and most importantly to us your friendship means to us.Ive been sitting here a couple hours now just staring at the screen trying to think what to say to express what we feel.I hope you will not mind if I cant come up with beautiful perfect words to tell you how we feel,People and the relations between people mean so much to both of us. I know you can tell from Jenny's posts how much she cares about her friends and everything involving them and I hope in my heart you can tell I do too.You have truly touched our hearts.Thankyou,Red for starting this wonderful thread, and thank you all our other friends for conveying your gifts.I just talked to Jenny, who is visiting her mom on the way here and since she is PC less this week,I told her about this thread. Although she had to hide her feelings with mom in the room, not knowing how to explain where we met, from knowing her I could sense her smile and tears of joy in her voice. Thank you seems like so little to say,to convey what your friendship means to us,but we both hope you all know how much each and everyone of you mean to us,you have found a very prominent place in our hearts. Sorry for the rambling,I get that way when i get lost for words. In closing, thank you all so very much for everything, especially thank you for you.

Jenny,if one of your relatives has a Pc and you are alone and are able to come to LIT,let me tell you I love you with all my heart, all my soul, and with all my being. My world was at a stand still, with me cowering behind my wall, thanks for climbing over it,and helping me to tear it down.

Sometimes I feel like I can't express the way I feel about you enough.

I know you know I love you. I don't doubt you feel the same.

It's just sometimes I feel like you may not know how much I really do.

I never knew love could run so deep. I feel like my heart could explode.

So, the next time you hear me say, "I love you!" don't think I'm saying it out of habit.

I don't know what else to say
for you to understand that you mean
everything to me.

i wish both of you the best that life has to offer :rose:

The red rose whispers of passion,
And the white rose breathes of love;
O, the red rose is a falcon,
And the white rose is a dove.

But I send you a cream-white rosebud
With a flush on its petal tips;
For the love that is purest and sweetest
Has a kiss of desire on the lips.

A White Rose by John Boyle O'Reilly (1844-90)

I wish you both the best...

I will bring a book of poetry so that Oman has some new sonnets to share with the love of his life.

I bring a single flower

May it be a reminder that even as life has its many thorns and thistles,
God has shown his love by adorning them with such beauty.
May your life together always be as lovely as this flower,
and never have any of the thorns!

To bring beauty and wonder to your backyard, I bring a butterfly house,

gifts

I know Oman's words and I know Jenny's words. You are good people. For your love nest I offer a huge bathtub...with lots of warm water and bubbles and big fluffy towels, hundreds of candles, all sizes, a big box of matches, and a thick rug near by, so your feet don't get cold stepping in and out of the tub. And for the bedroom soft sheets and many thick and warm blankets, and lots and lots of fluffy pillows.
Wishing you two all the best.
