missing John Ritter as well

On Dead People Server you can see a list by years. It's rather daunting........especially if you see someone you didn't know had died.

Two that weren't on Soron's list were Carl Anderson and Robert Merrill.

I had the pleasure of meeting Carl several years ago and to think that he's no longer here is sad.

I agree.

It makes you realize just how precious life is.

Is there any part of the world that's not prone to natural disasters? Any of them could so easily mete out major destruction.

So true DGO. No one place is immune, it does seem many times it is the poorest of the poor or weakest of the weak suffer the greatest at the hands of nature. I am at a loss and am finding it difficult not to be overwhelmed, I'm trying to stay away from the news but then feel selfish.

I am grateful for so much and wonder just how I will offer support to those suffering. Money is one way and I will do so but I am feeling a need to do something more tangible.

I'm going to donate my air miles to the red cross as well as money. It seems so little.

That is a good idea, I have some too - thanks for that. I agree it seems so little but I suppose we can be silent and far but caring too.

damn!... I did not realize Elizabeth Kubler-Ross had died... when I first started Nursing I had taken a death & dying seminar with her.... she was an incredibly dynamic women with a very deep compassion for those suffering.... and she was so down to earth.... my progression into LTC came from the influence she had on me early in my career....

losing all of the above makes me sad but losing her makes me feel really sad.....

well... so many great people go... as we all will.... so it is best to try to remember all if we can.....

Founding Member Of Traffic Jim Capaldi Dies At 60

Jim Capaldi

Jim Capaldi, drummer and founding member of Traffic, died January 28 after a battle with stomach cancer.

According to Reuters, Capaldi, 60, died in his sleep in The London Clinic after being diagnosed with cancer last summer. His wife Aninha and daughters Tabitha and Tallulah were at his side.

Capaldi along with Steve Winwood, Dave Mason, and Chris Wood began Traffic in 1967. The band released 11 albums during their career including hits Mr. Fantasy and John Barleycorn Must Die. A number of their records hit the Top 40 charts in the U.K. and the U.S.

After their break-up in 1974, Capaldi joined The Contenders. He also had a successful solo career that began in 1972 with the album Oh! How We Danced. He scored big hits in the '70s with songs such as "It’s Alright" and a cover of "Love Hurts." He was also a five-time winner of the BMI ASCAP awards for the most played songs in America.

Traffic reunited in 1994 to tour the U.S. playing with The Grateful Dead at Woodstock ’94. The band were inducted into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame last March.

Traffic were planning another reunion tour that was supposed to kick off last October. All plans for that tour were scrapped in August when Capaldi began cancer treatment.

Capaldi was not the first member of Traffic to pass away — Wood died of pneumonia in 1983. According to Reuters, Winwood is very upset about Capaldi’s death and was praying he would pull through.
