Friends have one-night stand, doesn’t ruin friendship

I’ve seen this concept as a side part of stories, but rarely the focus.

Essentially, long time friends have a one night stand but remain friends afterwards. It doesn’t ruin their relationship but they also don’t fall in love.

The tricky part (at least from my perspective) is making it particularly erotic. Like I said, they don’t fall in love by the end, so that kind of eliminates the tension from a lot of stories (for example, cheating stories where friends fuck because they’re in love but can’t break up with spouses, wouldn’t fit the criteria). Additionally they need to be friends afterwards so that takes out any stories where they’d be pissed off at each other or feel uncomfortable around the other).

I have seen it done: commonly main characters will mention having a fuck buddy on the side but usually they are a side character and they just disappear afterwards. Or friends have sex but it was part of a dare and then the ramifications aren’t explored, the friend disappears from the story.

So I wanted to pitch ideas where Friends fuck but are still friends afterwards.

1. Need to break up: friend is ticked off with their significant other and calls their friend up. They want to break up with them and make em hurt by cheating on them. Friend agrees and once the break up occurs, they go ahead and fuck for real, then go out for drinks.

2. Post grad man and woman have been friends for years. They meet up for lunch and woman mentions how a coworker heard she was meeting him and told her to watch out since she could barely walk after they fucked. Man laughs, admitting to a one night stand with the woman. They laugh it off but woman wonders how big he is. Man, emboldened by drinks offers to show her some time if she’s that interested. They meet up later that week and woman asks him if he can show her.

Some awkwardness, he does, then she wonders how it would be possible to suck it. Guy gets a bit uncomfortable but his cock starts reacting and woman says she’s just curious, they can stop the moment either of them wants to...but she really wants to try sucking him.

They fuck, laugh about it, then promise to meet up some other time, still friends but ones who are a lot more intimately close than others.

How about, it's the one and only homosexual experience for two (almost) straight guys both in ongoing other relationships with women, and while they could easily fall in love, they consciously decide not to, to pursue their respective heterosexual relationships at least one, but possibly both of them holds dear and prioritize. Basically, the "impossible" love story with a M/M twist.

I'm sure the same could be done keeping all three couplings heteronormative, but that may actually be harder to justify.

You could also replace “falling in love” with a consequence of another kind. The “falling in love part” is not bad because it’s a consequence, but because its
A predictable cliche.

But does this sound like a great story? “Two long time friends get horny. Because of that, they have great sex. Consequently, nothing happens.” Replace that last sentence with some other juicy drama and you have a story.

For my random input it could be...

“Consequently, one partner is pregnant.” Or “Consequently, one person can’t stop thinking of a new fetish he or she discovers.” Or... “consequently, they’re caught on security tapes and now the whole goddamn office knows...”

One Idea I have been toying with is a Guy and a Girl grew up next to one another, always had a good friendship so it never moved further than that. The guy is a jock and got into college with a sports scolarship, she did on an academic one.

on his first game as a starter his GF dumped him and now he is freaking out because his pre game ritual is a handjob/blowjob from his gf. Friend helps him out and after the game he rewards her with some great sex. But when it is all done, they do not feel magicaly in love, so they just keep the friendship as is, with the occacionate servicable sex

There's always the old trope about a pair of lesbians who want to have a child, so they ask a male friend to knock one (or both) of them up. Usually, it's a brother of one of the lesbians so that the baby will have both of their DNA, but it could just as easily be an old platonic friend. In any case, the two gals do their best to make it a really sexy encounter, so that the dude will blow a really strong load into them.

Hmmm, I just thought of a twist: the two lesbians each has a gay brother (the brothers may or may not be a couple). They each ask their own brother to knock up the other girl. That way, both babies (if successful) will have both families' DNA. The two guys can either come over on different days, or at the same time in different rooms, or, if you really want to cut loose and add some incest to the mix, they can have one big foursome. In any case, since all participants are homosexual, there won't be any chance of love blooming from the hetero sex.

I’m writing a story at the moment like this.

A guy starts at a new job and meets his co-workers. He has an instant attraction to one of them, which to his surprise, is reciprocated. Both are in long term, happy relationships. After a few years of mild flirting, the guy gets another job in another state. At his farewell, they wander back to his desk to collect his stuff, and to show her where he’s moving to. He “accidentally” elbows her boob while looking at Google maps. He apologises, she says no worries, you can do that again. They laugh, he does. And things go from there for a one, following day, stand.

They’re both happy it happened - a few “if only” chats, but they remain friends from a distance.
