The warm afternoon sun was high up on the cloudless sky, when Sabrina McEvoy was running along the street back home. The twenty-two year old and her boyfriend Aaron had just moved into this neighborhood. While Aaron was working as an associate at on of the bigger law firms in town, Sabrina was still looking for a full time job. She had just finished her education as a nutritionist and was seeking now employment, but had not been lucky so far. So she was currently just working half a day at a nearby gym as a personal trainer.

Since Aaron’s job required him to travel much and work very long hours, Sabrina was most of the time alone in their new home. So she spend time setting every thing up, searching for a job, and keeping her 5’2’’ body in shape, like this afternoon.

Her long brunette hair was tied in a ponytail, when she ran back from the park, where she had done a few laps for the last hour. Her fit, small body was dress in a neon pink tank top and her long smooth legs were showed off with her matching back and pink shorts. Sweat was running over her skin when she noticed, an older man in the garden of his house, just a block down from her new place. Sabrina stopped, she had seen the guy already a few times, so she thought it would be nice to introduce herself properly.

"Hello, Sir, I am Sabrina McEvoy, I just moved to his neighborhood a few days ago. So I just wanted to say hallo and introduce myself a little."

Ed Hutchinson had been living in his house for about 10 years. His wife Alice and he had been loved their home and the community, and led a fairly active life, enjoying hiking, biking, running, etc. Sadly, about a year ago his wife had collapsed one day, and died a few days later, having never regained consciousness. The doctors told him she had had a massive heart attack. He missed her terribly.

He had slowly adjusted to life alone. He kept himself reasonably fit, and thought his slim, 5'11" body looked pretty good for a man of 60. Lately he had been paying more attention to his garden. It was something his wife had always taken care of before, but now he had to take over, wanting it to continue to look nice.

The past few days, he had noticed a young woman pass by his house, out for a run. He could hardly have missed her, with her neon pink outfit. Man, she was in great shape. As a matter of fact, she was hot. She stirred feelings in him he hadn't felt for awhile.

Today she stopped right in front of his house! "Hello, Sir, I am Sabrina McEvoy, I just moved to his neighborhood a few days ago. So I just wanted to say hallo and introduce myself a little."

"Well, hello, Sabrina! Ed Hutchinson here! Welcome to the neighborhood! I thought I saw a moving van the other day. Out for a run, I see. I love to run myself, though I've slacked off a little lately."

Sabrina smiled at her new neighbor. She thought that he did look pretty good for a man his age. "Nice to meet you, Mr. Hutchinson, and if you don’t mind me saying, but you don’t look like you slacked off at all. I guess all this gardening keeps you fit. I have to get working on ours pretty soon, too. It has been ages since someone has put an foot into that yard. Maybe you can give me some advice sometime, because your garden looks so nice."

She looked around and Mr. Hutchinson’s garden really stood out. "There doesn’t seem to be much going on during the day. I guess most people are off working in the city."

"It is pretty quiet during the day, isn't it? I'm semi-retired, just go in a day or two a week, and I'm enjoying the free time... I'd be happy to give you advice on your garden!..... I can come over sometime and take a look".

Man, did she look good. Ed felt like this was his lucky day. "And by the way, thanks for the compliment. You're looking pretty fit yourself", he said, smiling broadly. Ed began to feel his shorts tightening slightly, and hoped that it wasn't too obvious.

The young woman blushed a little when Ed complimented her. It was always nice to hear someone appreciate her looks, especially since Aaron had been to busy to do so lately. "Thanks, but I guess as a nutritionist and personal trainer you kind of have to prove that your way works, don’t you?" Sabrina smiled at him, happy to have found someone nice in their neighborhood.

"It would be great if you could give me a bit advice. This is my first own garden and I am feeling a bit lost. Just feel free to come by any time you like. I work in the mornings, but usually am home after 2 pm." She didn’t know why she was so open toward Ed, but he seemed nice and Sabrina felt good around him.

Ed said, "Great, I have some free time tomorrow afternoon, so I'll come on by.". "It's that blue house on the right, isn't it?", he said, noting that that was the house the van had pulled up to for unloading a few days earlier.

"And you mentioned you're a personal trainer? You work at the gym on Elm Street?". Damn! If the gym had personal trainers like Sabrina, he'd have to go more often, that's for sure! Ed hoped he wasn't getting too carried away. He was quite excited about his new-found friend. He was suddenly finding it harder to stay focused on her face, as he wanted to study the rest of her body in more detail.

“Oh, that would be lovely, Mr. Hutchinson. Yes, it’s the blue house, just come by any time. It’s nice to have some company and your advice would be really helpful. Especially since your garden looks like you really know your gardening skills." She smiled at him and pushed a loose streak behind her ear.

"Yes, I am working in the gym on Elm Street. It’s a nice place and not too busy in the mornings. The place is equipped fairly well and I am still hoping that I might get a full time job out there." Being to focused on making friends and being a bit naive, Sabrina didn’t catch any of the signs of her neighbor’s attraction to her body. "I have to get going now, I still want to unpack some of our belongings. See you tomorrow, and thanks for talking."

She waved her hand for good bye and turned toward her house, running the short distance with high pace. Her pony tail was swinging left and right until she vanished into her house not turning back to look back at Ed.

As Sabrina turned and ran up the street, Ed watched her go. His eyes were mostly focused on the pink shorts covering her fantastic ass, but he also appreciated her strong legs, and the way her pony tail swung back and forth.

"Oh my", he said to himself, "Oh my!". Ed hadn't even been with a woman since his wife had died, but now he felt an undeniable attraction. As he went about the rest of his day, his thoughts kept returning to Sabrina. He was really looking forward to visiting her tomorrow. If that went well, he might even visit the gym sometime soon.... Then he cautioned himself not to get too excited here. Heck, she must be in a relationship, a hot woman like her? Of course!

He woke up the next morning with a raging hardon, having dreamt about Sabrina wearing a much skimpier outfit than what he had seen her in the day before. While tempted to relieve himself right then and there, he resisted.

A little past 2 that afternoon, he walked up the street and rang her bell.

The young woman had just returned home and barely had enough time to shower and change, before Ed was ringing her bell. Dressed in a simple summer dress in dandelion yellow, she opened the door. Her hair was open and hanging over her shoulder. "Hi Mr Hutchinson, I didn’t expect you so early, I just returned home from work. Come in and make yourself comfortable." She opened the door further and let Ed in and lead him into the living room. There were pictures of Sabrina and Aaron on a desk on the far wall, and the room was furnished modern, but tasteful. "Welcome to our new home. Do you want anything to drink? Or do you want to get started right away and have a look at the jungle out there." She smiled and laughed a little.

The previous night, Sabrina had told Aaron about Mr. Hutchinson and how he had volunteered to help her. Aaron had been surprised that someone would do that so quickly, but was happy that Sabrina was kept busy. Since he was having a very stressful time at work, he felt bad that he had so little time for his girlfriend, but the mortgage on the house wanted to be paid and Sabrina had trouble to come up with her share. So he had not been thinking too much about Ed and his motives and just told Sabrina to go for it.

"Well, I'm anxious to start the jungle adventure soon," Ed said, laughing, "but I could go for a nice cold drink.". Looking around, he said "You have a really nice home here". He noticed the pictures of Sabrina with a nice looking young man, and already felt jealous, wondering how Sabrina was in bed.

Sabrina brought him a nice cold glass of lemonade. "Mmm, that really hit the spot! Thanks". As much as he did want to see how he could help in her garden, he was really enjoying just spending time with her.

"Thank you, we are still thinking about changing a few things, especially upstairs and in the basement we aren’t really finished with moving in. But we wanted to have at least one presentable room, so we did the living room first." Sabrina went to the kitchen and got some lemonade for her neighbor and herself.

Sabrina didn’t really notice Ed checking her out and looking at the pictures of herself and Aaron. She was just happy that someone was going to help her with the garden and to keep her company. It was getting lonely in the big house, especially with so much work still to be done.

"How about the take a look at the garden?" Sabrina got up and walked over to the big sliding door, that opened to the patio and the garden. "It must have been a while since someone lived in this house and took care of the garden." Weeds were growing high and the bushes needed a cut. The garden just looked like a wild patch of land. In the far corner of the garden there was an empty pool, which needed obviously lot of attention.

Ed followed Sabrina out onto the patio and looked around with her. "It must have been a while since someone lived in this house and took care of the garden.", Sabrina said. "That's true", Ed said, "the house had been vacant for awhile. An old couple had lived here before.". He looked around the garden, imagining what it was like years before, when it was kept up. It reminded him of how much attention his wife had paid to their own garden. "I see what you mean about the garden needing work!", he said. "Plenty of cleanup to do.... not to mention the pool over there. That alone is a lot of work.".

He continued to look over the garden. He turned to Sabrina and said "An important question is 'What do you want it to look like?' Which plants do you want to keep, which to clear away, what new stuff to bring in...... Lots to think about". Ed paused for a moment. There was plenty he could help with here; it was a big project, involving planning as well as physical work. But that got him wondering about her partner. She had said "We", so she was obviously living with this young man, and he didn't know whether they were married or not.

"So, Sabrina, the uh... young man in your life.... is he into gardening, too, or is he leaving it all to you?".

"The problem is, I never really had a garden, so I don’t really know what I want it to look like. Our first plan was to get rid of the weeds and cut the grass and bushes and see what we have as a real starting point. Unless you have of cause a better idea. My boyfriend, or should I say fiancee, Aaron would love to do more around the garden. But his job is keeping him very busy. He is an associate at a bit law firm and they make him work very long hours. So, I guess I am left alone with the gardening job, or it will still look like this in two month." Sabrina looked over to Ed, hoping that he would somehow help her set up a plan.

"I think the garden layout isn’t too bad. I just feel a bit overwhelmed by all the work that is to be done. And honestly, I have no clue about how to clean up and renovate the pool."

Ed couldn't help thinking about Aaron working long hours. He got the impression that Sabrina was lonely, having a lot of time on her hands. As lonely as he was. So this was a perfect opportunity to get to know her better.

"Well,", Ed began, "I think you're right about the garden. We can clear away all the weeds, trim the bushes, cut the grass, and go from there.". "Now as far as this pool goes......" Ed said as he walked over closer to it, taking a moment to inspect it more closely. "You got a fair amount of algae growing, but it looks like it's been fairly well maintained.". He noticed a small fence behind it. Walking over, he found what he was looking for. "Here's your pool filter, and thankfully it seems to be in good shape. You'll need a bunch of chemicals to kill the algae, then we'll need to brush the sides and vacuum it and.......", he paused for a moment to look at the filter again. "Yes, it looks a lot like mine, so you can program it to run automatically periodically; I'll show you how. And maybe sometime soon we can drive over to the pool store together; I'll introduce you to the people there, and we can get supplies.". Ed smiled at Sabrina and said "Glad I know something about pools?". Ed was so glad that he could help her out.

Although overwhelmed and confused by Ed’s knowledge and explanations, Sabrina felt very thankful for Ed’s help. "Wow, I guess I was really lucky to run into a pool expert like you. It would be lovely if you could take along to the pool store and help me with restoring the pool, Mr. Hutchinson." She smiled warmly at Ed. She was even thinking about giving him a short hug, but didn’t want to act inappropriate. "What do you think is the best way to tackle all these problems. Should we start with the garden or the pool? In any case we will have to drive to a hardware store first, since we don’t really own any gardening tools, yet. Until now we had been living in small apartments in the city."

"Ah, well, there's a hardware store right next to the pool store. We can just go both places and get everything we need. The first step with the pool will probably be putting some stuff in to take care of the algae. That takes time to work, so in the mean time, we can tackle the garden work. Sound good?". Ed and Sabrina were standing very close to each other, and he resisted hugging her. He had a feeling that she felt the same way. "And by the way, call me Ed.", he said, smiling broadly.

"That sounds like a good plan, Mr. Hut… I mean Ed. Just let me get my keys and money.” Sabrina smiled at him and turned away and walked back to the house. Her flip-flops were making the typical sounds as she lead the way back into the house, where she got her stuff and soon they were off to the hard ware store with Sabrina’s small red car. "Thank you so much for helping me Ed. I hope I am not keeping you from anything or anyone." The young woman had noticed that Ed seemed to be living alone, but she had no knowledgs about this guy at all.

Ed watched Sabrina as she went into her house to get her keys and money. He wasn't used to be around an attractive woman like this. Although he was trying to think of this as just a friendly neighbor relationship, he couldn't deny his physical attraction to her. She did have one hot body, Ed thought, as he welcomed this opportunity to check her out, especially that marvelous ass of hers.

Soon she came back out. Mmm, nice tits, too, Ed thought to himself. Then he figured he better get talking, to focus his mind elsewhere. They got into the car, and Sabrina said "Thank you so much for helping me Ed. I hope I am not keeping you from anything or anyone." "Oh, not at all. I live alone, and quite frankly have been keeping to myself too much lately..... So you work at the gym? I haven't been there in a while. I was thinking I should go there to work out. Maybe you could show me the new equipment there".

"Here's the pool place, and there's hardware store right next door." They got out and went inside. Ed introduced her to the pool guy, Jack. Ed got the feeling that Jack thought Sabrina was pretty sexy, too. Ed explained how the pool was, and Jack showed them what was needed. After that, they headed next door to the hardware store, picking out various rakes and other garden tools.

"Oh, just feel free to come over to visit anytime, I know it can be very depressing to be alone for a longer period of time. And yes, I work at the gym. I am usually pretty much booked out, but I would be happy to show you around. However, you better talk fist to my boss. He doesn’t like it when you bypass him, he likes to keep everything and everyone under his control." Sabrina parked the car and they went to the pool and hardware stores.

Sabrina noticed the guy in the pool store checking her out. He wasn’t really trying and able to hide his attraction, since usually not many young attractive women came to his place. Sabrina tried to act like nothing had happened, but she didn’t spend more time than needed in that place. Finally the got to the hardware store and got the needed garden tools, like a lawn mower and other stuff. When everything was paid for and packed into the small car, they headed back to Sabrina’s and Aaron’s house.

While driving Sabrina got a bit bolder and asked Ed a personal question. "So there is no Mrs. Hutchinson? Or do you have a girlfriend? I just think your place looks so big for living in it alone."

Ed knew the question would come up at some point, and though it was still a little difficult talking about his wife, he knew he had to. "I'm a widower, Sabrina. My wife passed away about a year ago. I miss her..... and yes, it is a big house. Maybe I'll downsize at some point, find something smaller, but first I just wanted to give myself time to adjust.".

He paused for a moment. "No girlfriend, I've pretty much kept to myself.". Ed was happy he had a new friend to talk to.

"Oh, I am sorry to hear that, Ed. I shouldn’t have asked that, but I was too curious. And a guy like you should not be lonely. I bet your wife would want you to get back out there and look for a special girl. But I am only 22 and know nothing about life, however, I am sure that she would want you to continue your life." Sabrina was really sorry that she had brought up the topic, but she felt that Ed needed help to talk about this.

They finally got back to Sabrina’s place and started to unload all their purchases. "Do you want something to drink, Ed? Some lemonade or a beer, before we start to work in the garden?"

"You know, a beer would be perfect! Thanks!", Ed said. As difficult as it was at first to open up about his life situation, Ed was glad that he did, as Sabrina seemed to be a caring person.

Sabrina came out with drinks for both of them, and they sat down at a small table on the patio. Ed took a sip of the beer, and said "Mmm, that hit's the spot!". Then, looking at Sabrina a little more seriously, he said, "You know, Sabrina.... I really appreciate your friendship. I really do. ". Then, looking around, he said "and I'm quite happy to help with your garden and pool."

The young girlfriend got two cool light beers from the kitchen. Under normal conditions she wouldn’t drink this early in the afternoon, especially since she wasn’t really used to handle the alcohol. However, it seemed unfriendly to her and she didn’t want to make Ed look bad, so she took also one.

"Oh, you are welcome, Ed. It’s nice to have you around. I don’t know anyone around here, yet, so it is really nice that we met. And I would never have figured out what to do with the garden and what to get from the hardware store without your help. Thanks, so much!" She smiled at him and lifted her beer. "Cheers!"

"You should come and join my yoga group at the gym, there are many lovely ladies that would like to meet a guy like you. And you look like you could easily catch up on the exercises we do." Sabrina smiled at the older man. She really wanted to see him happy, since he was just a nice and helpful guy.

"Joining the yoga group sounds like a fine idea!", said Ed. "I've tried a little yoga off and on, though I haven't done any for awhile. But I'm sure I can catch on." Ed smiled broadly. He knew there was plenty of work to do, but he really enjoyed just sitting here drinking beer with Sabrina.

He felt there was so much he didn't know about her. "So where did you move from, Sabrina? And why did you choose this area?". "I'm so glad you did, by the way", Ed quickly added, laughing a little. He found her fascinating (as well as gorgeous), and just wanted to know more.

"Oh, yes, it would be nice to have you in the group. It’s on Tuesday and Thursday morning at 10, just come by the next time and give it a try." Sabrina smiled happily, she hoped that Ed would join the group and get some outside company. "And I promise, I don’t make you do a Crane or King Pigeon pose." She giggled and placed her beer on the table.

"Aaron had proposed to me a while ago and so we wanted to move together, to take the next step in our relationship. We were looking around and got a really good bargain on this place. It’s fairly well placed for me to get to the gym and for Aaron to get into the city. So we decided to move out here, and with neighbors like you, it seems like a good decision."
