For once Teyla was in agreement with Mackay. What little she or Ronan could translate this gate sequence led to trouble... Very dark and evil trouble... Or... A mystery. All the probe had seen was a half-destroyed gate and ruins. But still, the warning of death waiting in the golden tomb was enough especially after the talks of the sarcophagus from earth to make Teyla agree they should leave whatever the location was alone.

A sarcophagus that far away from any known region of the Gould was a mystery that Sheppard did not want to let go of. Weir finally agreed as long as he took Mackay and Ronon with hm as well as several soldiers. The probe had revealed the complex of runs to be massive. Days of work per building. Mckay tried to protest but as usual it fell of deaf or insane ears as he put it. Sheppard looked to him.

Don't worry Ronon and I will protect you.

Teyla sighed and suited up to go too but she was getting that sense that something was off or very bad about this place that she just could not shake.
_______

Still deep in her prison of sleep lost to the world and her own being sealed in a strange tomb that kept her sleeping and yet alive she waited... For perhaps all eternity

Ronon responded to Sheppard with his trademark grin and arched serious brow. If anyone needed protection, it was Ronan who was likely to do the protecting due to his military training and hunting skills. To this day, he was still able to take down Sheppard in hand-to-hand combat trainings but even Ronon had some things to learn with medium-range battle; this was one reason why he respected the Major and joined the Atlantis team.

With his revolver holstered, he tighten a few additional straps and watched as the gate was dialed. It was still quite the vision to see a portal open up in the generally empty gate, he never did quite understand how it operated but he only needed to know how to operate it.

With a loud "woosh" the portal opened up and the liquid like wall awaited to accept them. Ronon loved a good challenge and knowing little about what was on the other side excited him. As McCay, Teyla, Sheppard, and Ronon approached the gate, Ronon took a quick glance at everyone. "Take a breath everyone - it doesn't look like wraiths ever touched this area based on the probe. Should be a quick visit and we're back, no big deal. Besides... Sheppard will protect us even if there is trouble."

Ronon smirked widely and followed the team towards the portal. With a quick "gwoop", each of the team members stepped the portal and flew through the chilling transporter. Suddenly Ronon's vision went dark and the familiar feeling of the portal was gone, they had arrived on the other side. A few seconds had passed and the portal closed, leaving the team standing in the dark before each one of them turned on their portable lights.

McKay sighed looking around the ruins.

This will take forever.

He grumbled.

And we can't be sure that with their limited ability to translate the writings on the warning that we are not walking into some deadly Goauld base or something.

Teyla looked around also distrusting this place but nodded as Sheppard motioned for her to take some of the soldiers to the set of ruins to the west of the gate. Once everyone had their orders Sheppard added.

If you find anything radio for the others especially if what you find is alive or harmful or scary.

Seeming to direct that to McKay.

McKay go with Ronon.

Ready for Ronon's complaint.

I took him with me last time and he went with Teyla the time before that... Your turn.

Ronon rolled his eyes but drew his revolver, gripping it tightly in his right hand. Motioning with the weapon towards their hallway, he spoke up "alright... fine, let's go Doc." Ronon led with McKay close behind. McKay being the nervous, fidgeting man that he was he started asking fast, nonsensical questions as Ronon checked corners and kept his eyes peeled as they explored.

Eventually, they came to a chamber with a wall of many different symbols and writing. This wasn't Ronon's specialty so he hoped that McKay could do something about it. "You stay here Doc - Imma check the room." With McKay working on the wall of the large chamber, Ronon scouted the room but found no other noticeable areas of focus or elements of danger. Something about this didn't feel right to him but despite that, there was no danger from what he could determine.

He returned to McKay and stared at the wall, "can you read any of this?"

It's not any language from any race I recognize no. You and Teyla sometimes know languages sometimes that we don't so look at it.

One of the soldiers... A member of Teyla's people joined them to study it.

This danger or golden entombed death is near or here but I see nothing. There are words I do not know but this one stands out of the wall from the others... Why what is it?

Another guard motioned.

Panel of some kind over here Rodney.

Rodney walked over and studied it.

No power source... No energy reading just... a bunch... of dead.... Did something just go click?

There was a brief rumbling in the ruins followed quickly by Sheppard on the radio.

Rodney what did you do?

Ronon whipped his head around, trying to pinpoint the source of the rumbling - but it felt like the entire building was shaking. Ronon followed the flow of symbols and just start to see if touching them would reverse whatever was happening. However, after only touching a couple, the floor suddenly opened up under Ronon and swallowed him in and closing behind him.

Ronon was sliding in complete darkness and then suddenly felt his feet hit a floor and he instinctively rolled on the ground. Seemingly with his presence, the room lit up like Atlantis did when you walked into a room. The walls were adorned with light fixtures that glowed and lit up the room.

Glancing around, Ronon noticed a sort of container in the center of the room surrounded by tablets with slots and buttons that looked familiar to him. Ronon approached the container in the middle, noting the size of it could hold something large enough to be a person. There was a window of sorts allowing him to look in and when he peered in, he was surprise to find what appeared to a beautiful woman's face, soundly asleep.

Unsure if she was alive or dead and without any though of the danger, he quickly moved to the tablets and randomly hit a few buttons and finally took his revolver and shot one of the tablets. Almost immediately, the container slid open slowly and Ronon approached it, awaiting for the mysterious woman to come into view. Once the top cover was clear, Ronon leaned over her yelling "hey! hey! are you okay?" looking to see if there was some kind of stasis that was keeping her asleep only to be surprise when she suddenly opened her eyes.

Her eyes flew open. Golden vlow by her voice was not that deep sound of a symbiote taking over. She leaped from the sarcophagus growling only to land and appear to twist an ankle with an ungodly hiss.

McKay radioed everyone.

Ronon vanished Ronon vanished I repeat Ronon has vanished.

McKay what Did you DO?

Came back Sheppards question still about the rumbling.

Ronon... Can you hear me?

Teyla tried to contact him.

Ronon's walkie buzzed with static - perhaps due to the part of the building he was in. His stance was in an attack position expecting a follow-up kick or attach to come from this mystery woman but instead she was... holding her ankle?

Puzzled, he holstered his gun and put his hands up, "hey! I'm not here to hurt you. Can you... understand me?" he asked curiously, cautiously approaching her.

The gold glowing eyes watching him intently till she moved to stand up only to growl again. She seemed to sniff at the air before growling again.

There are humans here... Why... Have you awakened... Me?

She watched him carefully till movement caught her eyes and her head whipped around sniffing the air more as voices could be heard but from where it was hard to tell.

Ronan let the gun hang from his thumb to show he wasn't a threat. "Hold on... I'm not here to hurt you." As a gesture of good faith, he slowly lower the gun and holstered it. Placing his hands up towards his side, Ronan didn't dare make a move toward her or away.

"The humans in this place are not a threat - I can promise you that. We are explorers - I'm Ronan... and I saw you in that... thing." Ronan motioned towards the open device and sparking tablets. "Tell me, was it a mistake to release you?"

Rodney and the guards who had come with then rounded a corner only to see Ronon and... Glowing golden eyes... Gould...Rodney and the other human guard quickly ready weapons. Rodney trying to radio Sheppard.

We have found a Goauld repeat very awake Goauld!

It was easy to hear the panic and fear in his voice as the other guard advanced weapon ready.

You... Claim not threat... Humans just as Baal say... Always combative...

Her attention turned to the soldier as she growled.

Where is one called Jackson... Human?

Ronon didn't exactly understand what she was talking about but with Rodney and the armed escort now in the mix, they weren't helping the situation. "Doc! Lower your weapons now or-" The woman seemed to make a move and as Rodney flinched, one of the guards pressed forward again. This wasn't going well - Ronon had to make a move before something terrible happened.

With his quick reflexes, he grabbed his revolver and, ensuring it was on stun, within a second fired two quick rounds at the mystery woman causing her body to glow from his energy rounds. The woman suddenly fell to the ground unconscious. Glaring at the 3 men, Ronon shook his head. "There. Now she's not a problem. Please relax."

Before anything else could be said, Ronon looked over at Rodney "what's a gould anyway?"

Goauld evil enslaved every race they can or just wipe them out serious evil.

Rodney was rambling as the guard explained to Ronon about the symbiote and the sheer evil atrocities that these creatures we're capable of. However the guard did study her for a moment.

Her voice was weird not that deep... Possessed sound... Odd. Still should probably kill it save it from the symbiote... We don't have the means to separate the serpent from the host even on Atlantis.

Leveling the rifle again with Rodneys blubbering approval. Sheppard rounded the corner with the others in tow.

Stand down what the hell is going on?

Goauld sir...

Stand down it doesn't appear to be a threat right now... Maybe she can answer some questions. Contain it and let's get back. Apparently night fall here is br8nging on some serious cold temperatures we are not dressed for.
