Friday The 13th...Any Bad Luck?

Did anyone have anything unusual to report? I tried all day, a black cat ran in front of me, I didn't knock on wood, I spilled salt, opened an umbrella indoors, basically everything to give me an interesting incident to talk about, I got nothing! It's 2125hrs PST, so I still have time to break something.

Do you watch yourself on Friday the 13th, or do you ignore it and take your lumps?

Fuuuuuuuckkkkkk!

My alarm didn't go off.
I ran out of hot water.
I spilled coffee all over myself and had to change.
Made me late for work.
Burned myself on the coffee pot at work.
Xerox machine broke down.
My computer froze up at a very critical point.
Student yelled at me.
Best friend made me cry.
Other best friend got mad at me.
All this before noon!

It did get better from there - thank god!

I had really weirdly good luck today. People left me the fuck alone at work, for a change. I got to mildly flirt with the cute guy at work, though. That was fun. Well, does promising him a pint of dilled green beans count as flirting? Anyway.

After work I did some grocery shopping. Did ok, but they were out of a couple of things so we stopped at another store. They'd just put out like 10 baskets full of marked-down stuff and I totally scored!

Got 5 boxes of Lindt truffles for future gift-giving occassions, got a bunch of stuff to give as a hostess gift to the woman I'm staying with in Atlanta later this month, got some stuff for a swap I'm in on another board...just tons of stuff that normally we wouldn't be able to get! Hubby was soooo happy, too. At the first store we'd been eyeing this marinade that he really likes, but it was too pricey. They had it in the clearance stuff at the 2nd store for half price! I think he danced a tiny jig in the middle of the store. It was cute!

A couple weird events at work, but nothing really out of the ordinary. I didn't even realize it was Friday the 13th until someone told me at about 6:00 pm. I thought today was Thursday until then.

It was my lucky day i left the house with no money and came home with 7.00 dollars in my pocket found some money blowing in the empty part of the parking lot.

13 has always been my lucky number. Play 21 and double down on 13 and get an 8 for 21 shows it's a good number for me.

I'm a strict rationalist and don't believe in bad or good luck, but...

When I turned on my PC yesterday, smoke started to come out of it.
I turned it off again and disconnected the mains leads.
This morning I opened it up and a spur lead from the power supply, which connects to nothing, had burned out.
I cut it off and the computer works perfectly again.

So.. was I unlucky yesterday, the 13th, or lucky today, or both?
Either way I'm just off to the shop to buy a lottery ticket- just because I don't believe in luck it does not mean it's not worth a try!

My son was born on Fri. the 13th 6 years ago. And this year his birthday fell on Fri. the 13th once again. So i can't complain about it . He is a most precious gift and has been my lifeline lately.
