I see what looks like a cat running through the Paddocks across the road, well before I knew it and before I could even hit my brakes it was under my car. I stopped the car immediatly and got out in search of the cat, but couldn't find it anywhere.
Could it had been a ghost cat??

I dunno why but I have been in high anticipation of this upcoming Friday! Anybody have any superstitions that they would like to share?

I ALWAYS put on my hockey gear from right to left

I NEVER eat green M&M's when whitewater rafting.

If I hear "Lola" by The Who befor 8am I AM going to have a bad day.

Those are a few of many.

Ezzie, I always pinch them out too; it is to show respect to the spirit of fire.

I make sure......

my thing alway's dangles to the left. If it slips to the right side - anything can happen - and people might think I gay.

God Sparky, what a nut! No wait, you lost those.

Supersitions? Absolutely! My husband and I race. I always pat the dashboard, give the old girl some words of encouragement before I go. Songs about car wrecks are forbidden in my house and you never take parts off a car someone died in.

Friday the 13th

My birthday is on the 13th so i've had some birthdays on friday. I've never been really into superstitions but sometimes strange coincidences have happend and i'll keep up the formula untill it stops working. Who knows if it was the cause of my success. Why take chances. I generally make my own superstitions tho. I don't worry about stepping under a ladder or breaking a mirror....tho if someone breaks a mirror I joke about them having 7 years bad luck grin. I think that it's possible to cause a superstition or belief to be real just by believing in it enough. If enough people all believe in something maybe it creates some form of energy field or pool that can actually affect things in the real world. You can't rule anything out I guess so better safe then sorry.

I look forward to getting togethere with some friends on a full moon and going out to party we do it every full moon.

We ARE the wacko's that come out on a full moon.

13th... my lucky day

Friday the 13th has always been my lucky day. and my lucky number...always win money off scratch off tickets on Friday the 13ths.

"Ezzie, I always pinch them out too; it is to show respect to the spirit of fire."

Hey, I tried that once and set my finger on fire. Stupid spirits.
Oh, how do you know they don't like to be blown? Seriously, I don't know how one is more respectful than the other. If I were going to show respect for a fire spirit, I'd leave one candle burning until it hit its wick.

Of course, I don't do that because to appease the spirits of water (I'm from the NW) I have to sacrifice burnt matches and sticks to them... Wait.. I'm confusing Wonder Woman with reality again, aren't I?

AHHHHHHHHHH PHOOEY!!!!!!!

I say this as I cross my fingers, get very nervous if I fin my hat on the bed.....Friday the 13th is ok, 13 has always been lucky for me.... full moons AAAAAAWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOO

I do get shivers and remember the expression I heard in NC "someone just walked on my grave"

So I guess I am normal(whatever that is)

I've never really been superstitious before, but a few months ago, my little four year old niece and I were playing outside, when she picked up a penny. "Find a penny, pick it up. Every day you'll have good luck," she said as she put it in her pocket. Well, I thought it was so cute, and ever since that day, whenever I see a penny on the ground, I pick it up and put it in my pocket, saying her little rhyme as I do it. And it never fails: Something really SHITTY happens to me on that day. No more penny-picking for me!

Eve_of_destruction I always thought the saying went
find a penny, pass it on, all day long you'll have good luck
so everytime I find a penny I pass it on but can't tell you if I have had any luck though

My son was born on the 13th, so he has birthdays that have and will land on fridays. If I were of the superstisious nature I think that would have been a bad omen or something. But actually it has turned out to be one of my luckiest numbers. :)

Not really superstitious. Except for one silly thing.

I'm only tatooed on the left side of my body. And I would, for some reason, never get a tatoo on the right. The thought scares me. Weird isn't it.

Let's see, I always throw spilt salt over my left shoulder, and for what ever reason have taken to throwing spilt pepper over my right. I don't drive on April 18, cause I got in a bad car wreck on that day 4 years ago. And I never make wishes on falling stars, only the ones still in the sky.

Speaking of full moons and friday the 13th....just once, spend this night in an emergency room.

Bring some popcorn, and a comfy lawn chair, and let the show begin.

Pennies from Hell: A Public Service Announcement

I had always heard that saying as well:

Find a penny, pick it up, all day long you'll have good luck.

Never really been the superstitious type, but I would always think, "Ehh...what could it hurt, right?"

So, when I was 18, I picked up a shiny penny one day that was lying on the ground heads up. Later that day I found out that my boss had decided that I was doing such a fine job of managing his teen dance club, that a hefty raise was in order.

:D Yay Shiny Penny!

Few weeks later, my varsity basketball team was playing in a tournament when I found another penny lying on the ground, this time tails up. Remembering my luck from a few weeks ago, I picked it up and tossed it into my pocket. I ended up jamming my middle finger from a long lobbed pass during a fast break, and had to sit the rest of the tourny out.

:( Bad Shiny Penny!

Month or so later, picked up another penny (tails up yet again) while at work. I was the opening manager that day and went to turn on the breakers. The front plate of the breakers had been removed for some reason, so I wrapped my fingers around the side of the switches in an attempt to switch the breakers on with one hand and ended up getting electrocuted all the way up my arm (slick, I know). If you've never been electrocuted, it feels like someone takes a sledgehammer ala Kathy Bates in "Misery" to your extremeties.

 FUTHERMUCKING PENNY!

This is a serious issue with serious consequences. Please don't let this happen to you.

Thank you.

I'm not superstitious at all.... bad hu?..... But sometimes i think i should be..lol

Latina, I've always heard "Find a penny heads up, pick it up, and all day long you'll have good luck." Always heard that picking up pennys that were tails up is bad luck, so you'll see me standing around trying to flip over pennies with my feet. :)

I always heard...

Well, I never heard Anything about picking a penny up...

But superstitious? I always turn my beer can tops to the side...

I love a Full moon on Friday the 13th...
