Freeserve are offering their Broadband service for £30($60)
per month plus you have to buy their Modem for £99($200).

Is that a good deal?.

What is Broadband anyway.

Not a good deal.

I have my Broadband through Telewest Cable.

On a special offer it cost me to have it installed:

£25 one off
£25 one off for the NIC which I didn't have.

TOTAL: £50 to get it installed.

My monthly charge is £25 per month.

No other charges.

You already have a modem so I don't know how Freeserve can justify flogging you another.

Shop around a bit. I hear BT do quite a reasonable deal.

Whe I asked the same question "What is Broadband" it was explained to me that it's like a fireman's hose compared to a garden hose (non-Broadband). It carries more information at a faster rate.

At the moment your dowload speed is probably in the region of 56khz, mine using Broadband is 10 times faster = 560khz.

Which means if it takes you 60 minutes to download or access a site it takes me 6 minutes.

Great time saver. Plus Broadband can carry more information enabling you to surf the net with far better images and sound than you can at present.

Most ISPs have special Broadband pages now for customers to check it out. Why not find where you can see a demo?

Finally when you have Broadband you'll never want to go back...

:)

Best of luck anyway...

When you do get it you'll wonder how the hell you managed before...
