So I was sitting at home, minding my own business, when I noticed that my copy of MSN messenger service had somehow updated itself, and there was a new icon at the top named call. So I clicked on it, and it turns out that you can make FREE phone calls! I tried it out with a friend in the US, and it really is pretty good. It has about a 3 second delay, and my computer is a little slow so it hung up 2 times in about 30 minutes, but it's free, so what do you want?
The quality is quite reasonable too, and it will only get better. Oh, and it dials their phone too, so they don't need a computer.
Strange thing is, I could call the US for free, but not Australia. (I guess because it's an American based service) To do that, I'd have needed to deposit a little money, but it was going to charge me 4.9c for the entire call, so it's still pretty cheap. But I think you Americans could use it free locally. And Forigners can call the US for free too.
Try it!
