Free Cell: Is Every Game Really Winnable?

The rules say so, but I've had a HELL of a time with some of them... I play them over and over and can't get 'em right!
It's so frustrating!! What do you guys think? Does anybody win 'em ALL?

I think the rules lie, but my brother is working through every one of the 32,000+ games, and claimes he's eventually found a way to win every one of the first 4,000 or so.

I've found a couple that I thought were basically lost from the very first, with only the choice of which four random cards you played into the cells.

I've won every game I've played on it, it may take about 50 times to figure it out, but I have. I play it frequently, probably over 100 games by now.

I agree with WH, I think the rules lie too, unless the rules only apply to computers.

I'm not even sure how anyone could find out. With 32000 games, even at one every two minutes, It would take almost 45 days playing around the clock to get through them all. Who has that kind of time?

The best I've done is 67 games in a row with no losses.

I suck at minesweeper. Even if I do a custom game with the biggest board possible and only 10 mines, I usually get blown up on the first try.

I know that I've played Free Cell for 3 1/2 years now and had begun at game #1 and continued until I'd beaten each one successively to game #254. After that I decided to play random and the damn thing beats me 3 out of 5 times. I too have had to win some games by just tossing 4 up into the free cells and seeing what happens. I can't play Minesweeper to save my butt. I suck at Hearts too.

I'm ok at minesweeper, we have a tech here who is fucking frightening fast at it.

Hearts.... I have some ability at. I should my parents spent scads of money sending me to a university where I somehow found the time to play it a couple hours a day.

There was a recurring joke at our table in the cafeteria... "ahhhh, our parents hard earned money at work" LOL

I found that the way my brain trys to think; I do my best when looking at it for a few mins before I move a single card.

I have yet to find one that can't be done and have been playing it in off line time for a number of years.

Please send me the number of the ones that you cant get through and I'll give it a go.

I think you CAN win every one, but there's some games where you move ONE card the wrong way in the first few moves and you're effed for sure.

My hat's off to ANYBODY that can do good at minesweeper!!! I totally suck at that game. Might be because I have no idea whatsoever what I'm supposed to be doing. I just click on the little squares a few times then start a new game. lol

A guy I work with tried to start from game #1 and go all the way through. He got up to about 1500 before he got bored and thwarted. Another lady claims to have gotten to around 5000, but this remains unsubstantiated. I suck at it...my mind doesn't work that way.

i did what Wierd Harold's brother did and I tried to make it through every single game, starting with #1. I made it to the first 300 and got stuck. Damn Freecell !!!!!

My wife has been working off an on at Freecell for over 4 years. She is up to 20600 with wins for each game to that point. She sometimes has to try many times, but so far has always found a solution to each game.

I can't speak for me, because I have a helluva time winning. But my dad, before he died, had a winning streak of something like 100+ games in a row. So...judging by his performance, I would have to say yes...every game is winnable. I just wished he had told me his secret before he took it to the grave.

Minesweeper times

Hey, would anyone like to post their best minesweeper times? I think I'm fairly fast, but have no one to compare my scores with. Any brave souls?

This thread made me try minesweeper again. I completed two games at 288 and 285 seconds. I'm out of practice, and my mouse needs cleaning, so those are pretty slow times compared to the 160 to 180 second range I achieved when I played it a lot.
