I don't think its wise for you to be posting the kids. You have told a lot about yourself on these boards you location is apparent giving pictures of the kids just amkes it that easier to track you all down.

I would love to think of lit as a safe place but unfortunately there are those here who do not want to let it be.

As i poointed out earlier one guy posted several girls pics and personal info on the newsgroups. he also called her place of work, her home.

It doesn't take much to do a search of anyones posts and find enough info that could lose you and your man any standing, jobs or what have you possibly even the kids you love in real life.

I ask you to reconsider removing the pictures.

I don't ask to be mean, just out of concern.

We all would love to believe it is a safe world here at lit, but as you said, we have already seen examples of harmless intentions of pictures being posted in places never intended.

Ok.. first of all.. 7 of those 8 kids live NO WHERE near me.. 4 of them are over 1000 miles away.. 3 of them live with their dad in a city different than mine.. 1 of my kids lives with me and i'm not worried.

My posting a few pictures on this board is NO different than them being on my webpage.. which they are. And it has alot more info on there then here.

Like i said before, if Laural feels they need to be removed.. i will do it.. until then.. ignore them.. k?

People seem to think that movies are normal. Well, in Michigan, in the last 10 years, there have been roughly 5 child kidnappings that were not family oriented. In the United states, slightly more, but not many.

It's not something that happens every 5 minutes, reguardless of popular belief. Everyone worries about it, but honestly, if you ask the police departments how often they handle and ACTUAL kidnapping, most would say they never have, or have only worked one, maybe two.

Most often, kids that 'disappear' at a young age, are kids involved in a custedy battle, or have been awarded to a certain parten, or have simply wandered off.

Posting a pic on the web IS no different then posting it on the websites. I have one. I have a friend who has my kids on it.

You are more likely to have a kid stolen by a stranger who sees them in a shopping mall then by a stranger who lives 500 miles away who saw a pic of them on the net.

How is it different to have a pic on the web, then it is to let thousands of strangers see your child every day?

I take my kids to the mall. The park. The local McDonalds. They live in a town of roughly 18000 people. All these people have more access to my child then someone who sees thier pics on the web.

Am I wrong in letting my child ever go outside simply because some sicko MAY see him or her?

I fail to see how posting a pic is any different then taking your child out in public. Sicko's were not invented on the web. They exsist everywhere. We are more likely to find some freak is getting off by seeing those innocent pictures, then of any other danger.

Bad things happen all the time

My little brother was killed in a car accident by a drunk driver, should i fear driving?

My uncle was killed in an airplane, should i fear flying?

My father died of a heart attack, should I fear that might happen to me?

My mother had a stroke due to the STRESS of worrying, should i worry and give myself a stroke?

Nah.. and i'm not worried about my childrens pics being posted on the net.

Hell it's the net.. you sure those are MY kids? and not some i picked up on the net somewhere? Hell do you even know if i'm a female? Do you KNOW if everything i've said is the truth? Nope.. you don't.. I'm not Freakygurl from Washington state.. i'm Joe Blow from Florida...

Now.. who's worried? Not me... you worry for me.. k?

being concerned for someone who is being harassed on the net is one thing..

being worried about me posting pics of my kids on here is another..

Guess what Todd, with enough info.. anyone could find anyone.. even without a picture. Done it many times..(with a webtv no less) I may not know alot about the inner workings of a computer.. but don't let me loose on the net looking for info. If it's there, i'll find it.

Those 8 pictures put my kids at NO more risk than sending them to school everyday.

I understand you being concerned.. and i know you love to argue. I'm not trying to deny your right to think what you want. But don't push your beliefs onto me.. ok?
