The funeral home in my town was cleaning out it's storage area, and the employees ran across a couple of glass topped caskets from when there was a TB epidemic in town (I think it was TB anyway). I think one would make an awesome coffee table. My husband thinks it's too creepy to contemplate.

What do y'all think? Creepy, or great conversation piece?

i think that would make a awsome coffee table , just make sure its clean :D

wayyyyy cool....

omg i love funeral homes....and funeral...just stuff.....the whole ritual....death....the embalming....the caskets....cemeteries.....just so damn interesting.....

i hope he lets you.....

Its spooky but, think of the fun it would be

Hey, drill some holes in the bottom or sides where its not noticable.

Have a party and place the snacks and stuff on the glass top. But, before you put out the spread, have someone get inside. When people come to pick up their goodies, the person inside could move around and scare the shit out of'em.

There's lots of possibilities. Sounds like a talking piece to me.

I once made a coffin in to a grandfather clock....now that was a talking point for the guy who bought it off of me.

I say go for it ;)

I almost bought a grandfather clock that looked suspiciously like a coffin. Thought it was pretty cool.

And, btw... i think that's your most disturbing av yet.

I make furniture as a hobby and have in the past sold some pieces to some pretty upscale shops here in London.

Conversation piece, but be warned that a glass tabletop can become the bane of one's existence due to fingerprints.;)

I say put a fake body in it, then use it as a coffee table.

Be one hell of a conversation piece...

"Oh who's that? The last person who pissed me off." :D

It'll be creepy, but in a good way. How long is your couch? To balance a coffee table of that size, you'd need a seriously over-sized couch.

It would be cool. But it of course would have a bit of creepiness to it. My husband was telling me for some time he wanted to get a hearse. I told him no way in hell would I be riding around in it with him....Good lord..ever seen Christine?

Here's a chair you could have with your creepy coffee table...Talk about conversation furniture.
