In a far distant galaxy, the Theocratic Empire of Terrae, with its legions of augmented warriors, its near numberless Imperial Army, and its holy orders of Superhuman Knights, bring the divine light of humanity and the God-Emperor
to millions of worlds, All the while the insidious, barbaric warrior race known as the Kalax rule their so called "Alliance of Free Peoples" composed of myriad traitorous humans and filthy aliens in an evil conspiracy against the Glory of Mankind.

Alright people, im giving the GM role another try. This adventure will take place not only a long long time ago but ALSO in a galaxy far far away. Ive been on a sci-fantasy kick recently. reading warhammer 40k books, watching Firefly, and seeing some history channel specials on Star Wars and Star Trek.
Something bad is happening in the galaxy, and its gonna take some very special people and situations to make it better. This is pretty much an amalgamation of Warhammer, Star Wars, etc. etc. pretty much anything sci-fi, or fantasy with a scifi twist will work here.

Factions-
Empire of Terrae- based on the Utopian world of Terrae to the Galactic west of Netherspace. It is composed of millions of worlds and bound together by worship of the God-Emperor and, perhaps most important, the strength of his armies. His armies are near limitless, from the planetary regiments under the banner of the Imperial Army, to the genetically and surgically altered warriors of the Chapters of Imperial Blades (think 40k space marines, and think of them hard) all the way to the Knightly Orders of His Divine Terribilitas, (think jedi, sardaukar from dune, and space marines all rolled up into one.) of which there are but 10,000 Holy warriors, out of the uncountable masses of humanity. The empire is ruled by Arkon, the most powerful Psion in the History of the Galaxy, and known as The God Emperor.

Alliance of Free Peoples- located to the Galactic East of netherspace, it is smaller then the Empire, (although still quite large) but more technologically advanced. It is ruled over by a warrior race known as the Kalax.

anyway, the Alliance of Free Peoples is a conglomeration of many many different races, whereas the Empire of Terrae is only human. It is led by the Council of Thirteen and The Warchief Kage'mar.

Reapers- a generic umbrella term for many mercenaries, pirates and assorted other independent groups. Most heavily concentrated in Netherspace.

Altur'zek-an extragalactic Alien race with incredible technology, they arrived and carved a realm from the northeast of the empire, the north of netherspace and the northwest of The Alliance. So far they have been quite successful in defending thier realm on all fronts and expanding slowly while doing it.



Netherspace is a massive, galaxy spanning nebula, which forms the practical boundary between The Empire and The Alliance. It is filled with small stars, some of which support planets, and asteroid belts, and is home to many different "Reaper" groups. The Alliance and The Empire both claim netherspace as theirs but in reality the nature of the nebula makes communication between the nether and the rest of space impossible and thus makes annexing it impractical, except for the communication technology of the Altur'zek. The Ruler of netherspace, if there is such a title, is Akan'diel the Pirate King, a mighty Kalax warrior who has carved a small empire in the far south of netherspace.
 
The main races are:

Human-figure it out lads and lassies

Kalax-Large and furry, think your archetypal beastman type, or perhaps Ronso from Final Fantasy X. Their culture revolves around martial prowess and honour.

Altur'zek- a humanoid race similar to Elves, they have emerged from outside the galaxy and hit hard, carving a good sized realm. Though more Fragile then humans and especially Kalax they have amazing technology.

Shojin-a vassal race in the Alliance. Reptilian and small, they are typically used to provide fire support for Kalax Warriors. they are weaker then humans but can take a beating, with the ability to regenerate lost limbs. They have amazing eyesight and skill with ranged weapons, hence they're position.

Dwarkyr- humanoid race resembling dwarves, immensely strong and tough although short in stature. They are great warriors and genius' with engines and all things mechanical.

Knightly Orders of the Empire-Imperial Knights are genetically, technologically, and surgically enhanced to be greater then human. They are all also Psions, using their Psionic power to further enhance their combat prowess. They are famous for their massive power armor, force-blades and skill in every theater of war. They are also functionally immortal, due to their power and enhancements. they all die in combat, so if they can die of old age, they'll never get the chance.

basic story, Emperor may be losing his mind, The council of thirteen has become corrupted and is plotting against Warchief Kage'mar, the Altur'zek are slowly taking over due to the internal troubles in the major factions, The Pirate King is getting delusions of grandeur as the Empire is cracking down on pirates instead of fighting the altur'zek, and dimensional tears are opening up letting unknown enemies in.

Warbishop Alleron Ta'amarna of the Knights Terribilitas has commandeered a midsize strike vessel called Emperor's Sword and has stopped for a refit at Port Daggerfang deep in Netherspace, he will be called a traitor as soon as his abdication is noticed. With him are a crew for his vessel and his acolyte-squire Ivan Horatio. They know the problems in the empire

description-Battle scarred and equipped with a bionic eye to cover one lost to the spear of a Kalax warrior, he is about 8-feet tall, due to the procedures that elevated him from human to Imperial Blade (of the Dragonheart chapter) then finally from Dragonheart Blade to Knight Terribilitas. His hair is long and tied in a ponytail with his moustache braided over a bushy beard. Due to his age his hair has begun to gain streaks of grey. he had also lost his left arm in a duel with current Warchief Kage'Mar and had it replaced with a large plasma cannon, that can deploy an energy shield for close combat.
Weapons:force sword (called Bellum) and plasma arm cannon.
Gear: mk.12 "Terribilitas" pattern power armour, Black with white accents and deep red cape.
History: Born on planet Raziel (classification: Feral) a forested world filled with huge and dangerous beasts and homeworld of the Dragonheart Chapter of The Imperial Blades. he was recruited at age 13 and made into a Blade. At age 25 he was seen to have powerful Psionic abilities and brought into the Knights Terran, which he quickly left behind as he claimed the ranks of the Imperial Knightly orders, becoming a Knight Terribilitas at age 100 ascending to rank of Warbishop by age 200. he has fought all over the galaxy, against all manner of foes and is considered one of the Greatest Warriors of the Empire of Terrae, and now he has left it.

Race: Human
Class: Pirate Commander of the Twilight.
Description: He is about 5 foot 8. He is slim with long Black hair with hints of green, which match his deep emerald eyes and handsome face making look like he is in his early 40’s.. He wears Dark green trousers, with a bare chest, which shows several scars. He wears a long Green overcoat with Gold trim. He has several Bionic enhancements, including a bionic heart and lungs. He has a bit of an unhealthy addiction to adrenaline, and as such will do anything and take rather stupid risks. Upon looking at him, people would expect him to be weak but he isn’t. He is a cunning intelligent man, with the strength and speed to match one of the holy knights.
Weapons: A Force Sword, and Two hand crafted pistols, which shoot specially created Ammo, made by himself. He also has a Large Cannon strapped to his leg.
Other gear (Armour etc.): Armour Wise, he makes do with a sheet of thick metal, he has under his skin, as well as his metal Skull. Apart from this he carries a bag on his back that contains a large amount of his homemade ammo and other small bits he may need.
History: His early history is unknown he speaks to none of its horrors. More recently he has become known as a viscous pirate, with a crew who respect him, and most know that sometimes he can show mercy. This has put him in bad books with other pirates, who consider themselves to be merciless and viscous. Some have even confronted him about it, but none have survived.
 
interesting, i suppose the bionics have allowed him to live this long and be as strong as a Knight? alright, hes in.
 
I'll sign on for the second attempt I guess. I got a basic idea of what I want to do.
 
Name: "Karina" A.K.A. #137
Gender: Female
Age: 30 but aged 50
Race: Altur'zek
Class: Experiment type F, attempt 137
Description: She is a bit thicker the your average Altur'zek, which puts her at just under normal human thickness. She is 5' 2" and 130 lbs. She is fit in a tone manner as oppose to the a weight lifter style. Her eyes are blue and her hair is the same but kept short, about 1 inch. In addition to being slightly thicker then the average Althur'zek her skin has a green sheen in the proper light, her spine is lined with silver metal flecks, and on her right hand is what looks like a skin tight silver bracelet.
Weapons: None at the moment
Other gear (armor etc.): Class 3 stasis pod, but otherwise nothing, not even clothing.
History: Karina was a superior Altur'zek, in terms of genetics at least. For that reason she was chosen for the experimental research on the empires knights, or the few captured corpses at least. To this effect Karina was secretly cloned twenty times and 137 was manufactured from one of those clones.

The 200 experiments in F group ran the gauntlet of scientific thought, of coarse casualties were expected at about an 80% rate, but turned out to be much higher. That is why the program was kept secret for 30 years, and evidence of its existence removed promptly upon the discovery experiment groups E, F, and G.

Upon investigation of the facility, illegal gene splicing practices and the use of sentient nanotech, experiments A threw D were found along with empty blocks E, F, and G. (The contents of those blocks having been ejected, erased, or otherwise destroyed.) A minor note the weapons developed in the conservative C block are now in use.

That being said the F block experiments were the most closely successful at replicating the knights of the empire, and did so by simply attempting to produce results superior to the knights as opposed to mimicking them, resulting in something very similar to the knights at best and completely different at worst, the key differences are in cybernetics and genetics.

#137 was an experiment that placed more emphasis on shojin DNA and less on the DNA of the captured knight corpses. It is possible that the modified Shojin DNA stabilized the body via its powerful, and desirable, healing abilities. It is also possible that only placing limited emphases on obtaining the psychic abilities of the knights. The cybernetics are limited to bone reinforcement and a large fleet of nano robots with a collective mind, which is shared with the host.

The final product is capable of regenerating lost organs and limbs or even reattaching lost limbs, via natural healing mixed with nanobots that are produced from raw materials ingested and in return keep the subject from requiring food provided a reasonable light source, in basic terms she can choose to eat things people shouldn't eat if she eats at all. Her mind is also programed with a wide range of weaponry and gear currently used by the Altur'zek which she can make by ejecting nanobots on the proper materials. At the same time Altur'zek nano tech is far more advance then those present else where in the galaxy, these nanites are immune to traditional EMP and complex thought. #137 also has meager psyonic abilities which are currently limited to moving light weight objects, no more then a few pounds.

After being shot at transtellar speeds in a stasis pod, which has sense run out of power. Katrina has sense drifted in to the view of a curious ship captain and that is a sign of her adventure starting.

Class: Techno Shaman
Description: tall long hair, skin is ritually scarified in the pattern of snake scales, skin stained black with whit patterns.
Weapons: a long multi sectioned staff with a four headed battle ax at one end and a spear at the other.
Other gear (armor etc.): spell stones (actually advanced pysionic beacons (example shield spell) (fire ball which is a ball of plasma)

History: An orphan of one of the many fights between the alliance and the empire the human now know as Nimm was adopted by the enigmatic aliens. He was given over to the spiritual order and trained as a host. A great honor nimm went onto great esteem as a healer and prophet before war seemed imminent. He quickly began to train himself for war using generations of pysionic training as his arsenal. Some time when his guise fails he looks like a young man most of the time he appears as an aged Altur'zek shaman. In battle he has never known defeat. Despite his war like stance he is a man of peace who wishes for nothing more then harmony between all people.

Personality: unlike many of his race he easily engage with other races and has traveled many times in disguise to worlds of the empire. Outgoing and friendly his thirst for knowledge make him more a scholar then a priest. He is intelligent able to grasp language math and navigation in a way few can. Some believe that when the great war fleet is assembled he will be the one to lead it. A humble man he has never taken any rank for himself and is simple known as one of the wise ones. While many of his kind easily accept death Nimm laments’ in each kill after some battle he spends days locked away in prayer for those he has killed in service of his gods.

Spiritual power: A natural psychic using solus a rare substance and megil a thousand year old spiritual being to enhance his abilities. He can control the fire like substance plasma and more. This allows him to project a sphere of plasma or shoot bolts of plasma like sorcerers of old. The fire that burns through his body will one day consume him from the inside out taking a new host. Not a god his body fatigues with each use of his gift no matter how big or small. In battle his power can kill but it can also heal great wounds this grants the host a possible endless life if misused.

Race: half-human, half-Altur'zek
Class: Mercenary/Hitman for hire
Description: 6'1", 150 lbs., Black hair, blue eyes, rough face, "elven" ears, and a scar on his right forearm.
Weapons: One 6" blade on his hip, and one pistol on his right leg.
Other Gear: other then a leather jacket-like outfit and clothes, none.
History: After being orphaned at the age of 8, Arimous began drifting through the galaxy, learning from the "streets".

At the age of 17, Arimous was first contracted to kill off the captain of a ship, just so he could get a place to sleep. Contract killing seemed to be easy for Arimous, and an easy way to live. After about ten years of killing people for money, Arimous has become sort of an expert in it.

His morals that his Altur'zek mother gave him still haunt him with his killings, but the human part in him tells him that he must do it to survive.

Arimous does not eat much, nor often. Usually he takes shots of old fashioned whiskey, and settles down for the night. His favorite place to be is Port Daggerfang, where many inn keepers and bartenders know him, and his business.

Class: Ex-penal legionnaire (deserted)/ mercenary
Description: 5'8", heavy build. Shavd head, brown eyes, broken nose. Penal legion tattoo on left forarm, crude cybernetic implants
Weapons: Standard issue K-79 battle rifle, P-66 automatic pistol
Other gear (armor etc.): Penal Legion combat and hostile environment armour - thick and heavy armour plating for the entire body, hydraulically augmented (custom) with deadlocked helmet, crude ammo crafting kit
History: Born on Arcadius III in the Empire of Terrae, he fell in with one of the many criminal gangs rife in the downtown earea of the plant's capital city. Life was good for him, extorting cash from the locals, and giving a severe beating to those who refused "protection". On one job, he got sloppy and let the wrong man witness an extortion. One week later, he was in a jail cell looking at six consecutive life sentances. Until the military came calling. They needed fresh bodies to throw at enemies in potentially hazardous environments where the planetary Guard avoided. Getting fitted for his new "suit" was an incredably painful experience, as criminals were judged to be not fit for painkillers. After 7 years in the penal legions, and death avoided by sheer luck on more than one occasion, Joeseph deserted his unit by breaking away from midnight manuvers and acting dead after getting strafed by a fighter craft. Not his original plan, but it worked well enough that his "corpse" was abandoned whn the legion pulled out. After that, he floated from job to job, taking whatever contract, no matter how low, came his way
 
Terran marine? Star Craft? What the hell are you talking about and is it like an orc from world of warcraft? Perhaps like a warlock?

Name: Zeke Durran (His adopted nickname is "The Dreadnought"

Class: Well respected knight in the Order of Iron
Description: Zeke stands an impressive 8'0" and weighs about 450 lbs. His entire body is powerfully build and layered with corded muscle. He has short black hair cut in a bowl cut with his bangs hanging just above his eyes. Under the "bowl" the rest of his hair is shaved to less than a centimeter. His eyes aren't an actual color, since his irises are as pure a black as his pupils. His most notable feature would have to be the fact that he bears not one pair, but two pairs of arms. His second pair of arms protrudes from his midsection, just below his rib cage. His two extra arms look and function exactly like his other two arms.
Weapons: Zeke bears four force blades, however they are of two different models. Two of the force blades are of the standard issue, and resemble long sword surrounded by a semi-transparent shimmering energy field. The second pair are scimitars surrounded by the same semi-transparent shimmering energy field as his other two force blades. The energy fields of all four of his force blades are as pure a shade of black as can be artificially created.
Other gear (armor etc.): Zeke wears a suit of power armor that was custom made to accomidate his "unique" physical features. The power armor is of a shade exactly like his force blades.
History: Zeke's incredible size and strength was noticed quickly by the empire. Likewise noticed, was that he had almost no interest in harnassing and strengthening anything with the exception of his already impressive physical stature and fighting talents. Due to his sheer size, he became the youngest recruit to ever be recruited into the empire when he was recruited at the age of 10. It was decided very early on, that based on his obsession with physicality and combat prowess it was decided almost immediately that he would be sent to the Order of Iron to be trained by others who shared his obsession. Zeke advanced quickly through the ranks, despite his young age and inexperience. As Zeke moved through the ranks, he was merited a healthy amount of respect from his superiors. Zeke's currant positions, which he has held for the past five years, is chief tactical officer and second in command in case of emergency.

It was quickly beaten into Zeke, that though one man is strong, large numbers of less advanced troopscan easily overwhelm lone juggernauts. It was not long after these lessons finally sank in that Zeke developed his second obsession. This second obsession was in developing elaborate and complicated tactics and strategies. Whenever he wasn't working to improve his fighting capabilities he would often be found in the archives where he was studying piles upon piles of books giving detailed descriptions of battles long past.

Zeke has fought many battles, and has even fought side-by-side with several of the greatest generals of the empire on several occasions. There was one encuonter in particular, when Zeke, his commander Devon, and their squad of 1000 knights of the Order of Iron were stationed on a planet that was valued due to it's high mineral deposits. The compund that they were stationed at came under attack by no less than 10,000 Kalax. Zeke's commander Devon was injured and incapacitated by several shards of flying debris during the initial assault. Immediately upon realizing that Devon was out for the count, Zeke immediately took command. The Kalax tried again and again to overtake the compound, the men under Zeke's command, combined with the easy to defend terrain, and Zeke's strategic mind proved too much. It took two weeks before help finally came to finish off the Kalax. It was estimated that Zeke and his troops had managed to deplete the Kalaxs' numbers by 75% while losing only 10% of the men under his command.

It was after that battle that Devon, as well as several other of Zeke's superiors decided that they would grant Zeke a request, any request within their power. Many men would have taken a higher rank, a famous wife, riches beyond belief. Zeke however, asked for something that none of his superiors had ever imagined or expected. He asked that using the bionics, similar to that which had expanded his life, improved his strength, agility, and stamina, that a second set of arms be bionically and technologically enhanced and then surgically grafted to his body. What Zeke had asked for was almost unheard of, even for the Order of Iron. The order held true to their word, and not one month later, Zeke emerged with four fully functional, equally enhanced arms.

Nice one. I picture him to be like Goro from Mortal Combat. And I'm with renegade, I think of Star Craft, not WOW.

Yeah, prety much. Just without the behavioral modifiers, and with the armour not as advanced 8D

Yeah, I always enjoyed fighting Goro, even if I did end up losing to him. The concept and possibilities of having four arms are just so much fun for me. It's two extra arms you can attack, defend, or just mess with. Which also makes things harder too, because you have to worry about four blades and where they swing radius' will end up. All in all, I just like the concept as a whole, and I appreciate rengadeirishman for giving me the chance to role-play it.
