Even for the group of people who would most likely gnaw off their arm if Trump asked them to, his veneer of respectability and qualifications to assume the presidency are now wearing thin.
Hillary Clinton now has an 6-percentage-point lead nationally ahead of Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential race, according to a Fox News survey released Wednesday.
The poll found Clinton leads Trump 44 percent to 38 percent, which comes after she only had a three-point edge earlier this month. In May, a similar poll found Trump was leading Clinton 45 percent to 42 percent.
In a three-way race involving Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson, Clinton would lead Trump 41 percent to 36 percent and 10 percent would support Johnson.
Support among Republicans for Trump has dropped 8 percentage points, with about three-quarters of Republicans backing him now, down from 82 percent in May.
