While I was going through a box of 'stuff' I found a poem I was given a few years ago and I wanted to share it.
Drinking From My Saucer (author unknown)
I've never made a fortune
And it's probably too late now
But I don't worry about that much
I'm happy anyhow.
As I go along life's journey
Reaping better than I sowed
I'm drinking from my saucer
'Cause my cup has overflowed.
Don't have a lot of riches
Sometimes the going's rough,
But I've got some kids that love me
And that makes me rich enough.
I just thank God for his blessings
And the mercy He's bestowed.
For I'm drinking from my saucer
'Cause my cup has overflowed.
I remember times when things went wrong
And faith wore mighty thin
And all at once the dark cloud left
And the sun broke through again.
Lord, help me not to gripe about
Tough rows I have to hoe
For I'm drinking from my saucer
'Cause my cup has overflowed.
I've never made a fortune
And it's probably too late now
But I don't worry about that much
I'm happy anyhow.
As I go along life's journey
Reaping better than I sowed
I'm drinking from my saucer
'Cause my cup has overflowed.
Don't have a lot of riches
Sometimes the going's rough,
But I've got some kids that love me
And that makes me rich enough.
I just thank God for his blessings
And the mercy He's bestowed.
For I'm drinking from my saucer
'Cause my cup has overflowed.
I remember times when things went wrong
And faith wore mighty thin
And all at once the dark cloud left
And the sun broke through again.
Lord, help me not to gripe about
Tough rows I have to hoe
For I'm drinking from my saucer
'Cause my cup has overflowed.
