Hi All!

I'm a new author here. I've published a couple of stories here and about to do so for the third one. When I use the default editor to paste the text, the formatting is pretty generic - no space between lines, no paragraph indents, ltalics, etc. How do you get around this?

Thanks!
Bryan

You're not going to get around the "no indenting." No indenting is the hard format style at Literotica--for everyone.

<> with i inside for italics center b for bold then < /command >
italic text

italic text

Does that work? I only ever use the HTML versions.

Square brackets with i inside for italics center b for bold then square brackets /command close square brackets
[ i ] italic text [/i ] without the gaps

italic text

Square brackets don't work on the story side. Angle brackets (< >) are what are used there.

Yes you’re both right I’ll edit, sorry [] in here <> in other world

Is it possible to add line spaces - double or even 1.5?
No. The site uses a consistent publishing format for all stories - left justified, no paragraph indents, one line between paragraphs. Writers get limited choice over the presentation - bold, italics, underlining, centering; that's about it. Focus on your words, not your layout, would be my suggestion.

You can also use <> with ‘center’. That works, but seems to double space everything centred. A noted in the admin box asking them to ensure single-space works.

Nope. Think of the Literotica story file as one rolling anthology. Go look at anthologies published by professional publishers. You'll notice they have one formatting style across the entire work. That's what Literotica is giving, or trying to give--a professional formatting look to its rolling anthology.

Actually, it only add a linefeed after the centered text, so just don't add a line feed in your story text.
