I remember reading a story at one point, it has a vampire family on a boat (parents and adult kids) travelling to America and then go on to fight an evil mind controlling vampire. There's another set of siblings and a clock maker character and so forth. It's a really good story. 
just wish I knew the title and can't find it. The vamps have abilities, telepathy, flight, invisibility, teleportation etc. possible names of some characters, Jacob, Annie, Frederique (not sure on this one).
