Stopped at the convenience store for a soft drink last evening during my evening walk. Didn't even think about putting on a mask, didn't have one with me anyway. Nobody said anything, clerk sold me the drink no questions asked. It wasn't until several blocks later I even thought of it.

Locally, after several store employees have been viciously assaulted for just politely suggesting that a mask should be worn they are told not to challenge anyone.

There are exceptions for those who have existing breathing problems such as asthma or lung diseases but most of those people are upfront about it and apologise.

The ones who start violence at the least criticism are entitled assholes.

As are those that insist on authoritarian measures to enforce their superstitions, religious garb and practices.

I've done that a couple of times, but I do note that most places
have established plexiglass barriers between clerks and customers.

Here, the store can get a $2000 fine
The maskless person can get a $1500 fine
So, we mask

It's still not a natural act
that leads to a human act.
It sounds like the kind of fine
that will never be levied.

I spend a lot of time going back to my truck to get a mask.
