This one might be a title in search of an idea.

Probably a Loving Wives idea.

One of the couple has a "slip" and asks forgiveness... the other kindly gives it...but in the weeks after, it still resonates in the house, echoing hollowly.

finally, the spouse who slipped suggests that evening up is the only solution...

or

the spouse slips again?

That's one of my favorite themes for infidelity. I imagine a nice, basically conservative soccer mom type who wouldn't think of such a thing under normal circumstances, but feels free and motivated when hubby goes there first. She feels that it is necessary to even the scales. I like it better when the husband doesn't consent- isn't given the opportunity to consent. As the affair becomes more and more a realistic possibility, and finally a near certainty, he finds himself becoming more interested, though; going from being opposed to acceptance, with a little excitement thrown in.

Possibly slightly 'corny' but...

The husband has an indiscretion maybe whilst a a conference with work...

He admits to it and the wife listen's and having heard the story accepts..

But deep down there is that lingering fear that if he has done it once he will do it again..

Being unsettled a friend of hers over the next couple of weeks senses her friend is troubled

Over coffee one day (the mother may or may not work) her friend asks whats up..

Hesitantly the mother confides in her friend, who, unknown to the mother is bi sexual..

And so begins the seduction every time the mother/wife is uncertain her friend uses his infidelity to affect her judgement?

Not black mail but to use the argument if he can so can you.. besides is sex with the same sex infidelity (FYI I do believe it is)
