IC as Netshocker:

He awoke naturally. That in itself spooked him right away. It seemed ages ago since he had been able to get a full nights rest without some klaxon alarm or superior awakening him rudely. The new compound he had acquired had a full security system. Apparently he hadn't made any new enemies here in Colorado yet that were willing to dash through ion pulse cannons and laser grids just to try and kill him.

Keyword being 'yet'.

"Just a matter of time..."

He swung his legs out from beneath the light blanket and struggled into his boots, then stood and buckled his gunbelt around his waist. He felt much more comforted with the weight of the twin energy pistols settled on his outter thighs.

"ANGEL. Status report if you please."

The sultry yet obviously digital voice program of the bases AI control replied in it's normally flat tone, "Good morning Dean Braddock. All systems nominal. No threat to compound perimeter detected. No attempted communication contact made during your rest period."

He nodded even though he knew the sentianent would not require his adknowledgement.

"Fire up the coffee pot and raise the Cerebra satellite link. There's bound to mutant local here. Time to find them before the bad-guys do."

He walked into the bathroom and saw to his morning hygiene routine before going downstairs to get a cup of coffee and heading to the comm-center. He slid into the chair that made him think of Star Trek.

"Begin scan for unidentified mutated genomes Angel."

He watched as the monitor in front of him began to light up with several red blips on his scanning grid.

"Whoa. Looks like there's quite a few."

He began to write down several coordinates on a scrap of paper and then stood up to leave.

"Angel, I'm going out. Shut down the sat-link and power down to security power only when I leave. Won't do to run up the electric bill."

Shortly, he was cruising away from the remote complex and heading down the mountain towards the city below, a cigar clamped between his teeth and a determined look upon his face.

*Dennis pulled into the cabservice garage after a long uneventfull night shift and parked the cab before getting out and stretching a bit*ugh...another night, another buck...too bad there was so little action...*he then logs out and grabs his backpack before walking back to his apartment and lighting a cigarette*fucking lucky they put GPS navigation systems in there I`d say....

Georgina stealthily lept from rooftop to rooftop, using what little remained of the night to hide her prom prying eyes. Not that there were many eyes to pry her way this night. There had only been the usual drunks coming out of the clubs and the odd cabbie

Reaching her apartment window, Georgina balanced on the ledge, looking down into the street to see if anyone was looking in her direction. Something caught her eye. A man in a rather flashy car had pulled up to her apartment building, and she hadn't seen that car before

Silently hoping it wasn't one of those mutant-haters, she opened her window and slipped inside, quickly removing her 'uniform' and pulling on a heavy gown before climbing into bed. She always felt tired around this time of the morning...

Arko - Denial O'Neal

Looking around Denial saw no one, he was alone. That was a bad thing he has to live with, but it had a good side; no one knew of his secret.

"Looks like a good place to sleep." Denial thought out loud. He didn't have a place to call home, and know one knew he was even alive. He slept in a number of dark dead-end streets high up in a dark corner where it was very hard to see him.

"This wall climbing does have it's pros and cons, this is one of them." Denial thought to himself as his eyes closed, and cars had started to drive by already.

Netshocker

Net let the car idle at the stop sign as he watched the man strolling along on the sidewalk ahead. Flipping open the face of his watch he hit a button on it's side opening the remote channel to Angel.

"Angel, I need a bio-scan and conformation. Sending local coordinates now."

He hit another button on his watch and waited for the reply. A jet black convertible pulled up behind and it's driver began to lean on his horn. Annoyed, Net learned his head out of his window and glared backwards. The honking stopped immediately.

Angel's reply came as he turned his attention back to his target, "Mutation comfirmed in your immediate vicinity moving north-northwest at approximately 4 miles per hour."

Net grunted, "That's our man then."

He pulled forward intent on following the kid when Angel again transmitted.

"Secondary mutagenic signature detected. Scan indicates that target number three has stopped travelling on adjacent subsector charlie-three. Estimated distance: Three hundred yards North-northest."

Another grunt was Net's answer. He passed the man with the backpack and drove ahead slightly, pulling into an apartment complexes parking lot. He got out of his Camaro and adjusted his sunglasses.

"Nice of 'em to make it easy on me."

He glanced upwards towards the apartment windows and then towards the form of the man beginning to cross the apartments driveway. He flicked his cigar away and began walking to intersect the kids path.

*Dennis saw the camaro pass by from behind his sunglasses and smirks a bit to himself* heh, nice wheels...ehh, maybe one day.*he keeps walking and flicks his cigarette away and checks his pockets* ah crap, I`ll have to get a new pack later...

Arko - Denial O'Neal

Denial was fast asleep, it had been a bit of a night to say the least. "Normal" people, or humans still didn't like mutents.

A few men on the way to being drunk spotted Denial on a wall, they yalled and had chased him for awhile. Denial could have just shut them up by knocking them out, but he didn't want to hurt normal humans, they just were afraid of what was diffrent.

Now Denial had found a dark corner to sleep in, out of eye-shoot, well almost.

"What in the hell is that thing?" The man was looking up to where Denial was and could see his hand. Then the man had thrown an empty beer can at Denial, which hit his head.

"Do you mind, I am trying to sleep here." Denial yelled back down annoyed at being woken.

"Out here on the street? Don't you have a home to go to?" Denial could not go back to sleep, not in a place where he could be seenn, as he started to climb out of the corner, he was in the sun-light, the man down below was in a punic. "Y-y-you're one o-o-o-f those m-m-mutents?"

"Yeah, looks like it huh?" Denial yawned he was so tired. "Your kind don't let us have a good life, so I got to live like a Rat, so if you will excuse me, I'm going to find a new place to sleep." With that Denial jumped over to the other wall and start to climb.

It was going to be hard to avoid being seen in the day light.

Georgina heard some noise from outside like someone scrabling around, and some shouting. Moving over to the window, she opened it and looked out.

Much to her suprise, she saw a man climbing up and along the wall of her apartment. She waved her fur-covered arm out of the window at him. "Hey, pal! you wanting somewhere to crash? Come on over here, I got room"

Denial looked supprised at he as she leaned out furthur, but being careful not to draw too much attention to herself. "Yeah, i'm a mutant too. So stop gawking, and get in here before someone sees you"

Toshiro sat on a stool in the Starbucks he had ducked into just before dawn. He was nursing a latte and dreading the next day. He was out of money and out of work in the middle of a strange country. He'd come here seeking others like himself and so far had found none. Once he'd finished his latte he left the shop and started walking down the street he had no idea where he was going.

Everything in America was strange to him. No one was friendly or even polite. He felt more alone than ever before. Something caught Toshiro's eye. At first he wasn't sure he was really seeing it but his new sense had never deceived him before. It was a heat pattern. Left like footprints by a human body. The strange thing was that the heat prints were on a vertical wall.

Toshiro decided to investigate the odd occurance. He stood on top of a trash can to look over the wall. What he saw almost made him lose his balance. Climbing into a window was a strange almost insectoid man. And standing inside the window was a woman covered in fur. Their mutants, thought Toshiro, they have to be!

Toshiro bolted from the alley looking for an entrance to the building. When he found it he ran up the stairs to the door that corresponded to the apartment he had seen outside. Shaking nervously, Toshiro knocked on the door.

"Who's there?" said the woman without opening the door.

"Excuse me please," said Toshiro, "I know I am a stranger to you. My name is Toshiro Kurosawa. I am ... I am a mutant."

The doctor examined the X-rays before him, shaking his head and nibbling on a pair of glasses that idly twirled in his hand. He looked up at Joe, who was at this moment scratching his forearm, where a small piece of wire was hanging out of his skin.
"So?"
"Uhhhh," The doctor put the X-ray on its little light fixture, and pointed out the metal imbedded into his skin.
"It doesn't look like I can operate on it."
Joe shook his head, "No, that's impossible. Come on, doc. You gotta get this shit offa me."
"It looks like it's hardwired right to your nervous system. I can't go in there without seriously screwing up your motor functions. You'd be in a wheelchair, never walk, probably couldn't even feed yourself. This is the weirdest thing I've ever seen."
"Yeah, you're telling me. What do I do though?"
The doctor gave a shrug, "Does it hurt at all?"
Joe shook his head, "No, but it does something else."
"What?"
Sighing, Joe figured he should probably show the guy. He grabbed his shirt, tying it around his head, tightly, so he couldn't see anything.
"Ok, throw something at me."
"I beg your pardon..."
"Doc, just throw something at me, ok? As hard as you can. Throw it."
The doctor held up his pen, looked at it for a moment, and then at Joe who was just sitting on a chair, a shirt tied around his head. Surely, this was some sort of joke.
The doc threw it, and Joe caught it as easy as pie.
"Woah..." Joe twirled it around in his fingers, expertly, it ran up and down his knuckles like he was performing some sort of card trick.
"Now... the eye chart, see it?"
Joe threw the pen with such strength, it stuck right into the wall, right between the letter O.
"See," He took off the shirt, "It makes me catch things. I've never caught a thing in my life, and all of a sudden, I can. I can juggle, I can jump... hell, I jumped over a ten foot wall the other day. As if it were walking up a flight of stairs."
"Was this some sort of government experiment? Are you a mutant of some kind?"
"No, no, Doc. Nothing like that. I found it... in some cave. I don't know. It was... I just put it on, and it just started doing all this weird shit. I didn't know what it was, I just thought it was a cool costume."
The doctor, wide eyed, was jotting down notes as fast as he can.
"All right, I think I can help you. Just stay here, ok? I'm going to call a few colleagues of mine, we'll get this straightened out."
"Sure thing doc, whatever you say."
The doctor left, locking the door behind him, and nearly ran to his office.
"Don't let him leave," he said, passing one of the nurses, "Keep him here, no matter what."
He picked up the nearest phone, dialing as fast as he could, "Yes, I'd like to speak to Colonel Jessup. Uh huh, we have a situation down here. I think I'm going to need your help...."
Colonel Jessup spoke, muffled, for a moment.
"Yes, 3419. You said if there was anything... mutant-like activity. Well, I don't know if this applies, but it's damn close. You'll need to pick him up... We can dissect him, extract this suit, copy it... super human armies. Oh yes sir, if this is what I think it is, won't be a problem at all. Uh huh. No, he's locked away. It won't be a problem."

Joe sat in the room, his clothes back on, taking a look at the X-ray of his arm, where the wires were stuck inside. It itched sometimes, but didn't hurt at all. He imagined it would, metal being jabbed into your arm, but it didn't.
Tickled at first, and then just itchy.
It was deep in the skin, down where the muscle was. Deep enough. Tons of little wires, all coming out. They looked like that movie, The Matrix, except these wires were small, and they were close to his skin, also flesh colored, so one didn't even know there were wires unless they looked up close.
Except for the shin and arm guards, it didn't look like anything was different at all.
He sighed, wondering what was keeping the doctor.

Jack sat on his bar stool, watching a breaking news report on over the bar. Apparently, the X-Men had confronted the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants just outside of Los Angeles and the damage was pretty bad. Not the worst thing ever, but it was still enough to make the local hee haws want to go kill themselves a mutant or two.

"Those fucking muties are nothing but trouble," one large burly racist said while spitting.

"You got that right, Ed," said his friend.

"If I were the president, I'd start the sentinal program back up. Those robots sure knew how to kick mutie ass," Ed spat again.

Jack sighed loudly. "What did mutants ever do to you?"

"Look here, Larry. We got ourselves a mutie lover," Ed said while getting off his bar stool and grabbing a pool cue.

"Looks that way Ed. What are we gonna do with him?" Larry asked.

"I say we show him what we did to that mutie we found back in June," Ed had a snarl growing across his face as he wound up with the pool cue.

Jack didn't turn around. Jack never saw any of this, but he knew. He knew everything that these two were going to do, what they had done to the mutant back in June. They nearly killed him. And now they wanted to do the same thing to Jack.
It never took long for Jack to delve into a non-psychic mind. Ed's mind was easier than most.

Drop it.

A dull look came over Ed's face and the pool cue clattered on the floor. Larry tilted his head, trying to figure out what had came over his friend.

"What'd you do to him? You must be a fuckin mu...."

Hush.

Larry suddenly lost the ability to speak. He tried to make his vocal cords work but it was as if there was a mental block that was stopping him. Which was exactly what it was. The next thing the two mutant haters knew was being slammed into each other about three feet off the ground. And the man who they knew was responsible for it never moved.

And now Jack was gone. He had vanished from the bar and was now walking in the cool night air. The best part, to Jack anyway, was that those two weren't going to remember any of it. He made sure of that. Now, all he wanted was to go to sleep Yes, sleep would be fantastic.

Net began walking towards his target, watching as he lit up a cigarette.

"You know... They say that shit will kill you kid.", Net smirked as the kid looked up at him, "Of course, they say that about damned near everything nowadays. Then again, I'll wager you got more immediate problems right now than a little bit of cancer. Being a mutant... gives you a whole new level of things to stress about. Right?"

Net moved to stand in front of the kid, just in case he'd try to just walk past him.

"Dennis Hoek. I thing you and I should talk."

He lowered his head slightly and pulled down his shades to the tip of his nose, all humor gone from his face.

Arko - Denial O'Neal

Denial froze in mid-climb and lookked down to see the woman whispering to him.

She said she was a mutant as well and that he could stay there. "Unbeleavable. he thought to himself. He had yet to met another mutent since he got here a few years ago. Sure, he had heard of the X-Men on TV, but thaat was all.

Denial did need somewhere to stay, so he took the women's offer. "Ok, I'm coming."

As he got closer to the window he could see that the women was covered lightly with fear. "Hmm, I wonder what's with her." He thought to himself as he reached the window and started to climb in.

As he was about to introduce himself to the young woman, a nock came to the door. The woman asked who was here, the reply soundd a little quite, but Denial had head.

"Excuse me please," said the voice, "I know I am a stranger to you. My name is Toshiro Kurosawa. I am ... I am a mutant."

Sentry

Andrew McKinney peeked out from his hiding place, cautiously peering down the alley, his eyes scanning the darkness. He was waiting for his team mates to show up, but he doubted they would be very welcoming. Counter Force had chased him all the way to Colorado and didn't show much interest in leaving him alone just yet. He was already a dead man on paper, but he suspected Counter Force would like to make it a physical reality as well.
He froze as his keen senses almost felt a patch of darkness move. Slowly, a man shape emerged from the shadow, someone wearing a black 'sneak suit' very similar to the one Andrew wore. He held a silenced pistol before him as he moved cautiously towards a pile of boxes next to a heavy dumpster. Andrew knew what the other man was after, the watch he had give to some unfortunate homeless person a few hours earlier. The watch also had a hidden GPS tracker inside, which was now being used to lure his former team mate towards it.
The agent crept closer, but both men heard the homeless man, grunt, turn over and begin to softly snore. The other agent immeaditly realized his mistake and began to turn, just as Andrew burst out from his hiding spot nearly directly behind the other agent.
Neither man said anything. War cries and the like were macho bullshit for the movies, or for rookies who either learned to shut up quick or died quick in real special ops missions. The agent kept turning, but had to aim his pistol from across his chest, giving Andrew a fraction of an extra second to close distance. Two silenced rounds zipped past his head with a 'thwip' to harmlessly ping off the brick wall behind him. Andrew plowed bodilly into the agent, bouncing them both off the far wall. As the collided, Andrew reached up to his opponent's exposed neck. There was a quick 'ZACK!' and a brief wiff of burned flesh as Andrew's stun gun contacted the man's skin. He bucked once, then fell limp to the ground.
Andrew snatched up the fallen pistol, quickly ejecting the magazine, then racking the slide, kicking out the remaining bullet from the gun. Andrew stood then, tossing the weapon into the nastiest part of the garbage. He momentarilly thought about taking some of the high tech gear, but Counter Force had a tendency to track their agents through their equipment, and agents never worked alone.

"Don't move Andy." came a voice from behind him. "Drop the stunner."
Andrew did, standing slowly and turning to see yet another agent, wearing an identicle black sneak suit and mask. He held another pistol in his hand. "Hello Mack. I figured you'd be out here somewhere."
The new man nodded, but never relaxed his guard. "Yeah. Nice move back in Seattle by the way. Took us almost two days to figure out where you went." He shook his head almost sadly. "You should have never left Andy. You should have just stuck with the plan."
"No." Andrew said plainly. "Genocide is no plan Mack. The Mutant Menace story is bullshit. How long did we do our duty? For what? This?" he motioned to his own suit.
"We do what we have to do Andy. So you're going back." Mack tipped his head slightly, activating the comm mike in his hood. "I have him. Move in on my signal."
Andrew sprang forward, his two asp's snapping out in his hands as he moved. Mack got off one shot, which clipped Andrew's shoulder before the first asp cracked down on Mack's wrist. The gun fell to the ground where Andrew kicked it away as he rolled along Mack's arm, bringing the other asp up and around to strike Mack's head. Mack blocked the blow, but left himself vunerable as Andrew gripped the outstreched arm and using his hip, threw Mack over and down to the alley floor. In the moment, Andrew lept over Mack and ran, scooping up his discarded stunner as he bolted down the alley and away.

"Excuse me please,I know I am a stranger to you. My name is Toshiro Kurosawa. I am ... I am a mutant."

Georgina sighed. She didn't mind helping people in need, but in the space of a few minutes, there was not one, but two men trying to get into her room! Of course, one she had invited because he looked like he could do with somewhere to sleep, but the other had taken it apon himself to invite himself!

After helping Denial in, she signalled for him to be quiet. She walked lightly over to the door, tightening her robe - she'd be damned if she was going to let two strange men an unobstructed view of her cleavage.

Taking a deep breath, she smelled the scent of the man outside. Unlike what most people thing, mutants really do smell different to normal humans, and this one really was a mutant.

She opened the door and stood in the doorway, looking over the man, who looked to her to be of Japanese, or maybe Chianese descent - she could never tell the two apart. "Alright, come in. But please, don't say the 'M' word. I could get kicked out if they knew"

Once he was inside, Georgina closed the door and walked over to her bed, sitting down. "Well, I guess introductions are in order. I'm Georgina. Georgina Shaw, and i'm from England. You are...?"

Arko - Denial O'Neal

"I'm Denial, Denial O'Neal." Denial answered Georgina first.

He looked over to the man now standing in the room, try to figure him out. "You're a m-diffrentt huh? Don't look like it." Denial felt a bit parnoid and uncomfertable.

Looking back at Georgina, he noted she was actrictive in a odd way. Was it the fuir or tail that he kinda liked? Every since his mid-teen years, his atraction for girls - now women grew stranger each year.

"Thank you for letting me in Georgina, but I do not want to put you out of place." Looking at his hands and feet, he continued: "I will draw some unwanted attention to your home."

Georgina chuckled. "Like my climbing out of the window every day doesn't? Very few people look up here anyway" She idly swished her tail from side to side as her eyes wandered over Denial's body. 'hmmm, not altogether unattractive' she thaught

Turning her gaze to the oriental man, she awaited his response, agreeing that he didn't look different, but her nose told her that he was

*Dennis calmly looked at Net and smirked a bit*you don`t say...well, I`m pretty sure a cigarette isn`t going to give me cancer mister.I can technically drink and smoke all I want....but my sunglasses stay on...period.*Dennis then looks at Net*what are your powers anyway?

Maxine stepped backwards out off an office door and locked it "I gotta stop workign so late" She looked around and put the key in her pocket as she picked up her bag and began to walk to the main road, She looked at her watch in the pitch black and looked around and sighed not really feeling like catching a cab she began to walk briskly back to her Appartment.

Georgina's alarmclock went off and, with lightning reflexes, she hit the 'off' button. "Um, sorry guys, but could you excuse me a moment? A friend of mine is coming home, and she needs a coffee boost around this time"

Georgina rushed to her closet and pulled out a rather skimpy looking pair of hotpants and a cropped t-shirt. "Make yourselves comfortable, yeah? I'll be right back!"

Georgina grabbed a key and dashed out of her apartment door, and into Maxines, removing her robe as soon as she had entered, and dressing quickly in the clothes she had just picked up. Running into the kitchen, she put the kettle on

Maxine walked into the coffee shop and eyes off the muffins as she bought two and payed the casheir before walking over to the block and up to her appartment as hse opned the door and dropped her bag in the door before heading down the corridor to another appartment and tapped on the door with her fingernails "Anyone at home"

Georgina stepped out of Maxine's apartment, with a huge grin on her face. "Yeah, two guys!" She ran up and gave Maxine a hug. "How was work today Maxie? Same old office stuff?"

Arko - Denial O'Neal

Georgina left in a hurry, the other man didn't even get to introduce himself. "Looks like your intro will have to wait."

Denial said with a yawn, he was getting nervous. He becomes more like a Spider when he gets tired - parnoid, careful and very quite.

"If I go to sleep, I can tust that I'll be safe in your preseance?" With that he jumped up, hands attaching to the ceiling followed by bending hiis legs up to also attach to the ceiling, he then slowly crawled to a corner, semi-carrled up and drifted of to sleep...

Canimalia

"Hey!.. What ar eyou doing with two guys in your appartment!? Um.. Office work yeah. Until I got stuck into reassembling a Skeleton.. but then You know no more daylight and heh Im home late! And need some Java... um Muffin?"

Georgina giggled, then leaned in to whisper in Maxine's ear. "They're mutants. They needed a place to crash" She stood back and smiled innocently. "Like I would pull two guys off the street and drag them into my bedromm anyway. One of them is called Denial, the other one didn't get round to introducing himself"

Georgina yawned. "Oh, i'm sorry. I'm a little tired. You're kettle's ready for a cup of coffee, and yeah! A muffin would be great!" Georgina leaned against her door. "Hey, why don't you come in and meet them?"
