The sound of Sarah's platformed shoes hitting the pavement seem to echo all around her. She was running frantically, her shining blond hair in whisps around her pale face, her forest green eyes tinted with worry...

She had been so stupid, leaving everything for Heath's birthday up to the last minute. She had everything planned too, it was going to be a great pool party - - Sarah was famous for her pool parties. But unfortunately, thanks to a cold front from Canada, the weather had took a change for the worse, leaving the pool party a definate no. And so, here Sarah was, frantically searching for anything to make a party with.

She needed something exciting enough for Dee, tame enough for Audrey, and something that would hold Michael's attention. She knew that Heath would be alright with anything she had planned... Heath..

Just the sound of his name made her heart pound, every time she thought of him she got a warm feeling in her body. They had been a couple since she could remember, so long that her friends called them Heath-and-Sarah, as if they were a unit. Two people who had become known as one person, it was a wonderful feeling.

How embrassing that she couldn't even make his day a happy one. She hoped her friends were back at her place, maybe planning something or preparing some kind of suprise to releave her.

She had somehow found herself wondering deeper and deeper into dark alleys. But she wasn't afraid. Nothing bad ever happenend to Sarah. How surprised she was to find a mural, clear as day, painted on the side of a building. The mural was of a door, or at least it looked like a door, the handle looked so realistic...

"If that is a store, they must not get very much business"

Instinctively she reached for the handle, to her surprise she grasped the cold metal of the knob in her hand and opened the door....

"More Games?"

The door had shut behind her, closing her off from the rest of the world. The shop as it were seemed to be something from another dimenson. She was staring at the sign in the middle of the room, swaying back and forth...

The shop itself was filled with games. Weird games, ancient games, some she recognized.. like the glass chess set and an old monkeys- in - the - barrels game. But most she didn't recognize, like the 3D chrome board, the dices of many shapes and many colors, .. just what place was this?

The store owner, Kain

IC: "My my, you look cold." I step out from behind the counter and brush the dark long bangs from in front of my face. I looked at her tender figure and soft smile. All I could do was smile back and finish my plan. "Well come to more games."

"Let me help you, personally. We don't get very many customers as you can imagine. And the costumers we do get are never as lovely as you."

(Kain works ^-^)

~ The voice startled her, it seemed to cut though the silence like glass and it made Sarah gasp out as she saw him. He.. he was unlike anyone she had ever laid eyes upon, it almost made her forget the whole reason she had come there.

"Let me help you, personally. We don't get very many customers as you can imagine. And the costumers we do get are never as lovely as you."

~ Sarah felt the warm blush crawl upon her cheeks, and as he mentioned 'customer' she finally remembered why she was here. Heath's birthday. She needed something exciting, a game even -- a game that could be played by multiple players.

"Uh.. well.. actually..."

~ She couldn't believe she was stammering.. this man's beauty had totally caught her offguard.

"I am looking for a game, something that can be played by multiple players. You see its my boyfriend's birthday and - - "

~ She embrasized on 'boyfriend', and she had no idea why... perhaps maybe she felt she should?

"And I don't think just placing 5 people in a room with cheetos and playing cards is much fun... you know what I mean?"

~ Her green eyes met his, but only for a moment before she looked away...

"Do you have anything like that?"

Julian/ Kain

OOC: Julian sounds nicer but I spaced it out for some reason.

IC: Her eyes met mine and our gaze seemed to last for ever. her perfect face admiring my own. Then she turned away and our gaze seemed to of only happened for the shortest moment of time.

"I am Kain, I run this store." She is loyal to him. Still I knew that going into this. "I'm afraid we just sold our last set of twister so may I recommend a different sort of game." I reached over and grabbed the box from next to her. "This is an old party favorite of many people. It's a test of the mind. A fun but not to rigorous adventure if that is what you want."

"Its just a box"

~ It was a white rectangular box, but yet it fantasized her somehow. The way Kain cradled it in between his fingertips, making the surface change from milky to glossy with just the way light hit it. She seemed pulled to it, and found herself being pulled closer to the box, or was it to him? She couldn't tell, she just wanted to hold the box.

".. just a box... "

~ She gently took it from him, feeling the weight in between her fingertips, feeling the heat rising to her fingertips. Why did she get this feeling from a simple box?

She glanced up at him, and nodded, it was stupid for her to take it without knowing what was inside.. but at that moment, she didn't care. She just knew she wanted it.

"How much?"

Kain

IC: 'It's just a box.' the simple box in my hand contained pwoerful magic that I hope she would pick up on. Most would, and I doubt she'd be the exception.

'... just a box...' Her voice was weaker that time and I felt more confident that she would take it. Still I need to make sure she does, other wise this is a costly waste of my time. Not only does she have to take it but she has to play it aswell.

'How much?' My fears peaked and subsided all at once with this simple question. Where an old fear diminished new fear was formed. I took the box back in hand. "You know your right, perhaps this isn't your thing." I was sure she felt that I was pulling it away slowly from her, that wasn't the case how ever. She simply was haveing it taken from her hands from now.

"You know perhaps otehr stores still have twister. I'm sure you boy freind would love the look of your legs while you play that. Still it's a shame." I held the white box out in front of me. "People simply don't get the chance to play this game any more. A real pitty too." I looked at her face and smiled. "it was always one of my favorites. You see this game can be about anything. Adventure, rewards, faith..." I kept my gaze strong on her for a moment and then turned slightly away. "Even love. This game is simply over looked now at days."

I held the box in the hand closest to her and gestured behind me with the other. "Still we have many good buys besides this. perhaps you'd be kind enough to buy something from this store if not this." I turned back to ehr fairly confident in my work. "Oh, I forgot to give you the price. It's 12 dollars, if your still interested. Maybe you should look around first."

It was Closing time AT the job sight . Jax was puting away tools As Heath was walking up to him having already put away his tools . Jax and Heath were like family alot to do with the fact Jax had no family he grew up on the streats He had meat Heath when the were in pre-K and no mater what Heath and his family were always ther for him Heath was like Jax's brother. Jax looked up Brushed someof the long Bangs out of his eyes.

"Hay bro Whats up ? Did you tell your babe i was comeing to your Birth day party Or you afraid to tell her"

"No, wait!"

~ Sarah's hand had reached out for the box as he took it away from her. She couldn't explain it, she really wanted that box. It wasn't about having a game to play anymore, it was simply that she wanted the box.

"You know perhaps other stores still have twister. I'm sure you boy friend would love the look of your legs while you play that. Still it's a shame."

~ She blushed again, at the mention of her long legs, but shook the blush away and instinctively reached towards the box again..

Adventures. Rewards. Faith. Love....

"Still we have many good buys besides this. perhaps you'd be kind enough to buy something from this store if not this."

"No. I want this one"

~ How strange it was for her to act like this. She was usually the sensible one, the one that hung up on telemarketers and shut the door in the face of the vacuum salesman. Still, she was almost frantic as she fished though her purse and hastily pulled out 12 dollars

"Here, the money, please, I really want that one"

Heath

Man, this sucks. Big time.

The pay sucks, but the hours are great. A typical day starts at the very normal 7 am to whenever Heath's dad yells, "Clean up and pack away!" which was usually way beyond the 5 pm mark. But, it was a job with a slightly stable pay. Slightly due to the fact the Heath usually got a pay cut when business is slow, which was about this time of the year. Nobody wants to renovate their houses during a squaw of snow, frost and slush. Which was a bummer really, since it was close to his birthday, and that nice overhaul of his beloved truck remained undone.

Heath was putting away the eminently expensive compressed-air nail gun when he heard Jax yell out, "Hay bro What's up? Did you tell your babe I was coming to your Birthday party Or you afraid to tell her"

Heath smiled, and replied, "Well... Since it's a surprise party, and you weren't supposed to tell me there is going to be one, I guess the answer is no. Working off the surprise element, I would have to confess that I didn't tell her either that you're invited, which by the way is a given. And a big NO to you question on whether I was afraid or not. I just wanted to see the surprise on her face... and um,... yours when she throws you out, like the last time. Remember that?" Heath ducked an incoming fist while laughing.

The last time was funny, now that all the bleeding had stopped and the bruises had healed. It was fun when they both were forced to make impromptu and involuntary snow angels on the snow covered ground. But the best part was that everyone was laughing and basically having a good time. It was something that Heath was definitely looking forward to tonight, if Jax and he can get home and get cleaned up in time.

"I wonder what Sarah has planned..." Heath said softly to himself. In the distance he could hear Jax mumble 'what.'

"Jax, hurry up! Let's make like a banana and split before my dad finds something else for us to do... Come on!"

" No prob bro im Done , You wanna Take my Elcomino Or your truck"

Jax's elcomino is A 76' V'8 Suped up elcamino It was sweet except the beat up primer gray paint job. Thats Wher his mony Gose As they Walke to the cars Jax smiled and asked.

" Hay is the African Chick Friend of Sarahs ganna Be there i wounder if so this wont be have bad"

Julian

IC: She handed me the twelve dollars, which made me quite happy about the entire situation because I knew very well she was normally sensible and not the type to be throwing money of any amounts at people, like she is doing now.

I took the useless papers into my hands to avoid suspicion on her part. She will learn that I am not really Kain soon enough. But for now I must control her as a puppet.

I handed her the box. "The directions on how to play are inside. So use those beautifully colored eyes of your to read them to the group when you get home. It's fairly self explanatory and once your playing I'm sure you won't regret it. It's like meeting your true love for the first time." Oh my dear that is exactly what it is.

(cats, i was beginning to think you dropped off the face of the earth :( )

- Sarah nodded, feeling her own victory as she finally got him to give her the board game. She heard his last comment but paid it no heed as she zipped out of the store and made her way though the blinded alleyways until she got home.

Her house was actually quite impressive, the light blue roof and the white base had given it quite a homey look, but she was even more surprised to see the lights on in her house.. weren't her parent's leaving for vacation? If they decided to stay home, she wouldn't be able to do as she had planned, and as she rushed for the door she already had an excuse in mind to make them leave.

But, to her suprise, she heard noises in the kitchen, and as she put the board game down in the living room she was greeted by Audrey who was bent over the stove, shaking a wok full of cut vegetables. Dee was sitting on the counter, one long slender leg stretched out and another propped up on the polished surface -

"You guys.. you made it"

~ Audrey looked at Sarah, a soft smirk on her face as she sprinkled some soy sauce on the vegetables.

Audrey: "Of course we did, we had to bail you out - - again"

Dee: "And, to my own amazement, this woman can cook"

Audrey: "Of course I can cook, I had a german housekeeper when I was younger, she taught me all sorts of things"

Michael: "Hey, what is with the box?"

- Sarah heard Michael's voice in the background... Michael was the kind of guy that would go into your house and look at everything - - quite noisy actually. And currently, he had picked up the white box, the box that Sarah had almost forgot about...

"Oh, thats just something I picked up. For later... "

Audrey: "For Heath?"

"Well for all of us, actually... just leave it alone for now Mike, Please?"

- Michael shrugged, and Sarah quickly made her way to her bedroom. She was just glad that the others had shown up to help her out - - lord knew she would be lost without them.

She made sure when she got into the room to put her hair up in a pony tail - - the way Heath liked it. And she put on her favorite green chasmere sweater, keeping her soft flowing skirt on underneath. With a smile she went back downstairs to join the group. -

Dee: "So, when is your knight suppose to show up?"

"Hopefully soon, it smells like supper is almost done"

Audrey: "Cest La Vie.. "

Leo

OOC: I wouldn't do that to any one here. I tend to camp on week ends and every once in a while I'm simply not in the mood to write after it.

IC: Leo: I pulled the brake on the car. Turing to my cousins house I quickly decide that at least some one is home. Auntie had asked me to house sit with Sarah while they were on vacation. "I wonder if she told Sarah. She does tend to be forgetfull."

I opened the car door and walked up to the front door. "Well Sarah has never mind my company in the past why would she now." I stretched my legs quickly before ringing the door bell. "Man after that long drive I need to stretch."

- Ding Dong. -

"Oh, oh, I wonder if its Heath.. hey Audrey, Dee, do I look ok?"

- Both of the girl's looked at eachother and just laughed.. -

Audrey: "If its a big deal, I will answer the door if you want to watch the food"

"No, no, I'll go! I'll go!"

- Sarah was laughing playfully, passing Michael who was still in the living room eating Cheeto's and eyeing the white box. -

"Michael.."

Michael: "I'm not touching it! I swear!"

- Shaking her head slightly, Sarah brushed down her skirt and went to answer the door. She was a bit suprised to see Leo there, but not disappointed. -

"LEO!!"

- She threw herself into' Leo's arm's, squeezing her body against his tightly as she tilted her head up and pressed her lips against his cheek. -

"I'm so glad you showed up, come in , come in, unfortunately Heath hasn't shown up yet.... "

- Two heads poked themselves out of the kitchen, the graceful swan - like featured Dee, and the beautiful classy Audrey, with her shimmering shoulder length red hair and piercing green eyes... -

Audrey: "Hello Leo... "

- It wasn't a secret that Audrey had a crush on Leo, ever since she was first introduced to him 3 years ago by Sarah. However, because she was dating Michael at the time, and Leo was usually busy, she never had the chance to let him know. Mostly, she just flirted shamelessly when Michael wasn't around.... -

Dee: "So, you here for the party too, Leo?"

- With a slight smirk, Dee forced her way behind Audrey and gave the vegetables a quick toss -

Soon jax in his elcomino And Heath in his truck Pulled up to the Party house As leo steped in and the door shut. . They walked up and Knocked on the door Dee opend the door and let them in . Jax Emediatly Started to hit on Dee Complmenting her cloths and figure in his blut way.

Raven

Raven walked through her backyard into sarah's. she wiped her sweaty hands down her skirt and knocked on Sarah's patio door. She was kinda nervous. It was sarah's idea to invite her and since it was next door her parents werent worried about it. She really didn't feel like dressing up so she just grabbed her tan colored crochet purse with her book of the day, and sketchbook in it and walked over. dressed the way she normally is in some form. She kept her hair tied up in a heap of waves around the top of her head, she kept it up with a pencil again. She usually has two in there, one to keep her hair up the other to use. In a black tank top, that shows a hint of cleavage, a long sleeve flannel that the sleeves are rolled up two inches below the elbow and a long blood red broomstick skirt. she put a bit of lip gloss on and some khol and came right over.

she waited until sarah came to the patio to open the door.

Leo

IC: Sarah answered the door and she had a look of surprise and slight disappointment that she hid quickly behind her genuine excitement that I was here. I took a step into the house after a quick hug and family kiss on the cheek.

'Hello Leo.' I saw Audrey behind the corner and I could feel my heart skip a beat. I wanted to see her but didn't expect to be so lucky as to see her as I walked in the house.

'So, your here for the party too, Leo?' Dee's head poked out of the kitchen with an incredible balance. I softly smiled at them. Two cute ladies and I am once again single, how sweet it is.

"Well I take it Sarah's mother didn't mention I was house siting. So that means no TV past ten." I shake my fingerer at them. "Well I'm fine with a party just didn't expect it actually." I walk over to the couch and have a seat. I then look into the kitchen and see a boy siting at the table staring at a package. I wondered to myself who he was.
