....and anyone else that thinks we should "nuke" Palestine for celebrating.

Not everyone hates us as so many would like us to believe. We have our fair share of hatred in this country. Is the celebrating by a few Palestinians somehow more despicable than American adults taunting and throwing rocks at Muslim schoolchildren?

......just food for thought.

Awwww! Thumper. Thank you for sharing that wonderful and enlightening photo.

They are so bummed looking, but they have a glint of hope in their eyes, that all children have, and can't be stolen untill they learn of hate as an alternitive to life's frustrations.

The terrible thing about terrorism is that ultimately it destroys those who practise it. Slowly but surely, as they try to extinguish life in others, the light within them dies. -- Terry Waite

I am as worried, as scared, of our losing our humanity one person at a time as i am about someone far away - or even already here in this country - planting a bomb in a public building or poisoning the water supply for a major metropolis.

Already in my admittedly civil-rights-be-damned-for-everyone-but-those-who-look-like-the-majority area, there have been beatings of three middle-eastern students. The police are urging calm and civic leaders are decrying such ignorant tactics, but i'm afraid they'll keep occuring because many people here react from fear and testosterone rather than from a calm thinking approach to what's right and appropriate.

This is not a time for a return to the WWII hysteria that led to the interment of American citizens of Japanese descent. This is not a time for the wholesale lynching of citizens who are going about thier business peacefully, based on nothing more than the color of their skin or the name on their house of worship.

I'm so afraid we'll launch into a lynching mentality in this country.

Bullies lurk everywhere.

They always have, always will. Just looking for an excuse.

The record shows that few if any Palestinians have ever attacked the US throughout the entire struggle over the homeland. Lots of Morrocans (we still vacation there), Algerians, Egyptians (we still vacation there), Saudis (we still love and guard them), Afghanis (they do have problems coming), Pakistanis (finally coming under pressure from Washington), etc. Far fewer Palestinians.

I personally believe that a successful termination of these terrorists and their cultural agenda against the West would help the Palestinians by allowing the world to focus on their specific grievances against a specific opponent. Don't forget that one of the first developments in the Oslo-Era West Bank was a casino in Jericho, jointly owned with Israelis. Hamas never attacked it. Their war is not a cultural one, notwithstanding racist rhetoric from both sides.
