For his upcoming birthday, Trom requested that the "Theme AV of the Week" club go Transformers, and that's exactly what we're going to do. We invite you all to participate. If you're unfamiliar with said Transformers, have a look at Trom's educational "Trom's Transformer Goodness" thread.

If you're still uncertainly about going Transformer as a "gift" for Trom's natal day, I suspect that he would also enjoy AV's of trombones, especially if they come appropriately adorned with sexy young women ;)

I can never get another AV I like resized and accepted on Lit so I've given up. I will, however, be ready with birthday    when applicable.

I think of Glinda as one of the original Transformers. She does a very neat transformation from a floating bubble into a pretty lady :D

Oh, I hadn't thought of it like that. Thank you.

A  from the Transformered good little witch.

As I said I'm in, well you can see it too. Even delayed update of tummy pic, figured it was a good way to make a friend smile on the week of his birthday. That and I love transformers myself, hehe.

Okay, so DL suggested I put up some bios of the characters being portrayed in our Av's. So without further ado, our first Bio is of DL's Av:

Hot Rod

"My Actions Speak Louder Than Words"

Hot Rod is the all-American-boy Autobot. Not too sweet, not too sharp, not too snotty... not a goodie-goodie, but basically a typical adolescent who has dreams of doing great stuff and being as heroic and important as Optimus Prime and other famous and revered top Autobots. He tends to follow rules until they bug him- and he sometimes learns, to his regret, that disobeying wasn't exactly smart. And he often acts without thinking in an effort to do the right thing- and this gets him and sometimes his friends in trouble. But he's not afraid when trouble does arrive and is a brave and honorable fighter and friend. He is especially close to Kup, the grizzled old mentor of an Autobot, although he sometimes resents hearing "wisdom." And he likes Daniel, the Earth kid, a lot. (In a way, Hot Rod is big brother to Daniel -a role model- and Hot Rod knows it and takes the responsibility seriously.) In robot or automotive mode, Hot Rod is sometimes hot-headed, but always a well-meaning, admirable "lad" and popular with all who know him.

Abilities:
He carries two photon lasers that temporarily electromagnetize an enemy robot's microcircuits. Speed: 120 mph. Range: 4 miles.

Weaknesses:
Hot Rod's impulsive actions often get him into trouble.

...And another from Dreamwaves More Than Meets the Eye Profile Book Volume 2...

Targetmaster Hot Rod
Bio:
The charismatic Hot Rod has to shed a lot of his youthful immaturaty if he truly plans to follow in the footsteps of great Autobots like Optimus Prime. Hot Rod has a definite core of goodness in him that makes him easy to like, but he is also prone to taking rash actions or making disrespectful statements without even thinking. It's this hot-headed nature that differentiates him from the thoughtful Firebolt, his Nebulan partner. An astute scientist, Firebolt is both apprehensive and excited about having left the scholarly life to fight againsty tyranny alongside the adventurous Hot Rod.

Abilities:
Subject has slightly above-average strength, average intelligence, and excellent endurance. His maximum speed in vehicle mode is 330 MPH, which he can maintain for 150 miles. As a robot, the pipes on his forearms can emit bolts of electrostatic energy. His targetmaster partner Firebolt becomes an electrostatic discharger rifle that is usable in both of subject's modes. Firebolt is a highly intelligent scientist specializing in atomic physics.

And for Mrs. DL...

Bumblebee

"The Least Likely Can Be the Most Dangerous."

Bumblebee is the Autobots' little brother. He's small, eager and at times can be a bit of a smart-mouth. Yet for all his wisecracks, he obviously idolizes the bigger robots, especially Optimus and Prowl. He is useful as a messenger and a spy; he can go where other vehicles would not dare because he does not look threatening. And his relatively small size occasionally enables him to use routes not available to the others. More than anything, Bumblebee wants to be accepted, and this sometimes causes him to take chances he shouldn't.

Abilities:
As he can get up to 1.8 times more use out of a unit of fuel than the next most efficient Autobot, Bumblebee is often called upon at times of low energy resources. His visual acuity rates tops of all Autobots: he can spot a 10" x 10", object at a distance of 48 miles on a clear day. His adaptability to water environments makes him particularly important in undersea reconnaisance and salvage operations.

Weaknesses:
Bumblebee is physically the weakest of the Autobots and the most easily damaged. His stealth more than compensates for this liability.

And Magica...

Arcee

"Looks Can Always Be Deceiving."

A sweet, kind, and loyal Autobot to her friends, Arcee is also a merciless, lethal warrior to her enemies. Arcee's intelligence, quick wit, and coolness under fire make her invaluable to the Autobot cause. The Decepticons constantly underrate her because, since to them she so closely resembles the female humans of Earth which the Decepticons have absolutely no respect for, they believe she is beneath their consideration. It is an attitude that Arcee exploits with deadly efficiency. Arcee is very protective of the human, Danny Witwicky, son of Spike Witwicky, the long-time Earthling friend of the Autobots. In fact, sometimes Arcee is a bit overly protective of him and treats Danny almost like a fragile Ming vase since his skin is not composed of a supremely tough metal alloy like hers. Arcee is attracted to the Autobot, Hot Rod, who reciprocates the affection. But neither of them is willing to admit it openly. If one were to listen to the verbal pot-shots they take at each other, one would think that they were the bitterest of enemies. But catch one of the Autobots, or worse, a Decepticon, making a disparaging remark about Hot Rod in Arcee's presence and the offender will more often than not find his hydraulic hoses sliced to ribbons before he knows it.

Weaknesses:
Arcee's concern for Danny sometimes causes her to take excessive risks in order to protect him.

Stella Omega as:

Omega Supreme

"Unyielding Resolve Has No Conquerer."

Omega Supreme is the ultimate defensive force. Although he has great strength, it is his even greater courage which truly distinguishes him. Against overwhelming odds, he will stand unwaveringly and fight with every last microchip of his mechanical being. His fellow Autobots consider him serious, even grim, but those with insight know the reason why: the enormity of the responsibility placed on Omega Supreme. He is designed specifically as the Autobots last line of defense. It is his job to protect the Ark and anything else considered vital to the Autobot cause. He knows that should he fall in battle, chances are there will be no other Autobots left by that point to take over his role. His is a situation Omega Supreme finds both challenging and chilling. He would have it no other way.

Abilities:
In robot form, Omega Supreme possesses enormous strength and firepower. A blow from one of his arms can shatter a mountainside. With his clawed arm he can lift 300,000 tons. The plasma blaster on his other arm can pulverize a solid 12' x 12' x 12' steel cube. The laser cannon mounted on his head can hit an object as small as a can at a distance of 50 miles. His armored form is virtually impervious to all non-nuclear explosives and energy-beam weapons. He can change his form into two other forms simultaneously: a laser cannon tank and a rocket with launching pad. The launching pad can boost its rocket into planetary orbit. The rocket is adaptable to communication, military and transport uses.

Weaknesses:
In both intelligence and speed, Omega Supreme is a bit slow and plodding. He makes an easy target, but his enormous firepower can usually compensate for that.

Might as well put mine up there too...

Thundercracker

Motto: “The Deadliest Weapon is Terror”

Bio:
Thundercracker was an aimless Transformer whose primary conceit was his contempt for those that couldn’t fly. Megatron’s skillfully crafted propaganda and personal attention helped convince Thundercracker that his feelings of superiority were justified, and the rhetoric about the grand purpose of the Decepticon cause provided Thundercracker with a much needed sense of direction. It has since become apparent that Thundercracker is not entirely convinced of the Decepticon cause, especially when it puts innocent lives in danger, but his need for meaning in his life allows him to be persuaded to stay.

Weapon/Abilities:
Thundercracker possesses above-average strength and intelligence. In jet mode and robot mode, he can create controlled sonic booms that can be heard for 200 miles. This ability is much more powerful in jet mode. He is armed in this mode with two drone cruise missiles that can fly for 500 miles and explode with a force of 3,000 lbs. of TNT. In robot mode, he is armed with two shoulder-mounted cannons that fire several hundred rounds per breem (8.3 minutes) of heat-resistant ceramic bullets; the bullets contain a highly flammable material that explodes on contact.

Weaknesses:
Thundercracker’s mounting doubts about the rightness of his actions and cause can impede his effectiveness; usually his fear of Megatron keeps him focused.

Loving this and the transformers thread, keep it up please. Damn cannot change my avatar untill i have 100 posts. Ok imagine skywarp (my favorate decepicon) with a pirate hat as mine please!!!!

As for everyone else's, I'm working on it. I just have to find the bios of the movie characters like Jazz (cloudy) and Bumblebee (Jomar), and 3113 just happens to be their home planet of Cybertron, that transforms into their God, Primus.

I said it on the other thread, but in case you didn't see it: Happy Birthday Trom.

ETA: Oops. Maybe you did after all. :)

Thanks. My grandparents are coming up today so we can do the cake thing, even though my birthday is tomorrow. Truth be told I'd rather them not come up, but I can't exactly tell them not to. Other than that it's gonna be another normal day.

At least there's no school. :D

I'll join in, when I find something (totally clueless here - though that will change, youngest son is demanding the DVD make it into this house soon!)

Because I just noticed this one of sxcascinn's...

Shockwave

"Clarity of Thought Before Rashness of Action."

Of all the Decepticons, Shockwave's method of operation is most characterized by the cold, brutal efficiency one would expect of a purely mechanical being. He enters every battle not with the bloodlust of his comrades, but with a scientist's approach to solving a problem. The problem is always the same: How can he use his abilities to most effectively eliminate the greatest number of his enemies, the Autobots? All too often he finds the answer. He seeks Megatron's position of supremacy over the Decepticons not because his ego demands it, but because his logic-circuits dictate it. He feels Megatron's all-consuming passion for conquest only hinders its achievement. With smug certainty Shockwave believes the reins of Decepticon power will inevitably be his- after all, he reasons, its only logical.

Abilities:
Among the Decepticons. Shockwave's power is second only to Megatron's. His total command of the electromagnetic spectrum allows him, in his ray-gun mode, to emit a coruscating beam of energy in a wide variety of forms: high-energy explosive gamma rays, x-rays that allow him to see through almost anything, blinding visible light, super-hot infrared rays and radio waves that can either send messages or jam other radio signals are but a few of the weapons in Shockwave's arsenal. Never having been adapted by the Ark to an Earthly form, Shockwave remains a size consistent with his robot mode when he transforms to a ray-gun, that is, more than 35 feet long. He can fly in either mode using powerful jet thrusters in his boots (which become the handle in his ray-gun mode).

Weaknesses:
Shockwave's wave-emission power, as well as his flying, is limited by his high fuel consumption. Although he uses the same type of liquid fuel as his fellow Transformers, he can also use radioactive fuels in the small nuclear reactor within his torso, which substantially eliminates his liquid fuel dependency problem. Although his logical brain center is usually an advantage, more intuitive and emotional thinking processes often confound him, particularly when his adversary is human.

Cool. :D

lol...the thing about Shockwave is that he's got to be the single WORST shot out of all of the transformers! I remember seeing him shoot at a group of autobots that were only twelve meters away (perspective for their sheer size, would have been like 10 feet for you or I) and missed with a dozen shots!

Cut the guy some slack, he only had one eye. ;) No depth perception = lousy aim. Then again, EVERYONE on that show had terrible aim!

I'm in. I think this is Blaster clobbering Soundwave, but don't quote me ;)

I also found this one, but wasn't sure it'd resize well :D
