LOL, really now, I just don't want those who are against the tax cut to suffer at the hands of that evil tax rebate, and want to make available for them a means to return that money before they use it and become corrupted

It's not the rebate I have problems with it's who is going to get it. Look, the surplus was generated by a steady increase in the amount of payroll taxes collected. In 1960, about 13% of all taxes collected were payroll. By 1998, it had jumped to 23%. Income tax, meanwhile, has remained fairly constant at about 45%. During this same period of time, the federal deficit increased dramatically. The cost of operating the US was more and more dependent on Payroll taxes. You could even say the Income Tax cuts of the 80's and the capital Gains tax cuts of the 90's were financed by an increase in payroll tax collected.

Now Todd, your hero GWB, kept telling us that the surplus belong to the people. It is the peoples money we should give it back. Again, I agree. But since it is fairly obvious that the real effects of the Regan IT and Bush/Clinton CG cuts were softened by PR Tax, then isn't it the people who pay payroll tax from the very first dollar they earn get first dibbs on the surplus.

Think of it as bubble up economics. After all, the people receiving a rebate at the lower end would defiantly spend it, you know stimulate the old economy. Why couldn't something besides oil be able to bubble up.? We know the rich may only spend part of it. Maybe invest the rest in the next big thing on Wall Street. And watch it evaporate just like that. Fact that was what GWB once said about his class of folks and the Estate Tax. He publicly stated the second, third generation removed from the source of family wealth is more than likely going to just squander it anyway so what the hell, we don't need an estate tax. Let em go out and squander the legacy. Come to think of it, isn't good ol' GWB third generation from the source? If he doesn't have much faith in the ablity of "class mates" to handle inherated wealth, why should we trust him to know what is good for the economy?

Well, maybe we should let those earning a living through wages and salary get a chance at squanderin'. Heck, why should all those rich folk have all the fun. And since I am personally aquatinted with a lot folks working for a living, I bet you any money, they would squander that windfall faster than the Hoity Toity.

Payroll Taxes Todd. That is where the surplus came from. That is where it rightfully should be returned. Oh and get this. Everyone one who earns income in the form of wages and salary would for once get a tax break. Seems most of the breaks have been going to the investment class lately. It's about time the rest of us got some preferential treatment for a change.

Taa Taa.......

One last thing we all should be asking the senators and representatives who pushed so hard to give the surplus back to the people, how much cash is that yeh vote goning to bring in? How much extra money are the yeaher's gonna see in their wallet next april 16th? And especially to GWB, how much federal tax will his family avoid when the Estate Tax Cut is fully implimented? No one ever asked.

Ummmm, haven't you been reading my posted GWB/Antichrist isn't my hero and his actions are nobetter than what Gore would of done, both are complete screw up's. But on a small GWB praise if its possible, the value of the canadain dollar had started to climb, from the 40cents it dropped in the clinton years, up 4 cents, but soon as jeffords flipped and the Dems got control the dollar dropped the 4 cents and another 3 for a 7 cent loss.

Maybe if Marica Survives the next 4 years there will be two decent canadates to choose from. If Hildebeast runs in 2004 lets hope the pubs have someone worthy to run against her cause I garentee you we are all screwed globally if Hildebeast wins.

I pay way too many taxes, I'm definately keeping mine. I give a significant amount of money to a downtown mission that provides clothing, food, shelter, and a bunch of different necessitiies. I do this regardless of politics. I would prefer to give to the mission for charity than the government personally.
