For those who are really, really cuteness-deprived. . . .

mantas don't eat crabs. They eat plankton.

Unfortunately, that wasn't a manta it was a bat ray and they are crab eaters. However, since the crabs were fully concealed, the ray was on its own and had no more cause to be hanging around the divers begging than some pestiferous sea gull.

My diver friends and I think the diver needs a knock on the head for putting the crabs in peril by uncovering them.
